Reframing 'Bad Days'

by Madisyn Taylor -

When we have good days, we often find ourselves going over the details later, enjoying them a second and third time as we feel the joy of our good fortune.

When we have bad days, we may find ourselves poring over the details of our misfortunes. However, we can reframe those bad days by making it a daily practice to spend some time before going to bed each night to review the gifts we received that day.

Finding Gifts In All

Regardless of our evaluation of the day—good, bad, mediocre—we can call forth the many blessings that were present. This practice transforms our consciousness as it reveals the fullness at the heart of our lives.

Some days it’s easy to recount the gifts we’ve received; on other days, we have to look harder for the offerings of the day, but once we do, we will find there are always quite a few. We can keep it simple and be grateful for the fact that we have a roof over our head, nature, food, and our health.

Once we have fully experienced these gifts, we can move outward to the gifts that may require a little more thought such as the gifts of forgiveness, tolerance and acceptance that we may have learned that day. We can also always be grateful for the people in our lives who support us, no matter how bad our day may have been.

Patience, Wisdom and Fortitude

Just reviewing the many positive offerings in our lives provides a context for our difficulties that puts them in proper perspective but we can also make an effort to see the gifts even in adverse circumstances.

This can be challenging and may require some practice before it feels authentic but we have all had the experience of a disappointment or loss leading to a surprising gain. Just remembering this and trusting the give and take of life can help us to remember that sometimes the best gifts of all are the ones we don’t recognize right away.

In addition, the lessons we learn in the face of adversity are offerings in their own right, allowing us to count patience, wisdom and fortitude alongside the other gifts of the day.

The Presence of Love

by Harold W. Becker -

We are forever surrounded by love.

From the rays of the sun that nurture and sustain life on our precious planet, to extending a helping hand to another in need, our existence is found within this unifying principle we know in our heart as love.

Life itself is the expression of unconditional love and you are here right now simply because you are a magnificent presence of this same love.

The beauty of our journey is that we represent a full spectrum of sizes and shapes, colors and gender, beliefs and perspectives, while being ever connected in a common bond of unity through our heart.

From the tiniest atomic particle to the brilliance of an imaginative idea that changes the world, it is love that guides our grand expedition in this experience of life.

We live to love just as we love to live.

Each of us represents a wonderfully diverse and unique expression of our individual and collective potential to share love.

This love animates and propels us forward to experience love in every aspect and facet of life.

It is our deepest aspiration to embody this love since that is who we are at the core of our being.

Even when we choose to create the illusion that we are somehow separate from love, the potential to love remains in each moment.

If we allow the perception of separation to last long enough so that we begin to doubt ourselves and this eternal connection or even beyond to where the thought of fear intrudes, a simple recognition of our heartbeat is enough to remind us that love is right within our being.

You matter with each breath you breathe and step you take.

Every action and interaction, thought, word and feeling makes a difference to everyone.

No one could ever take your place and what you bring to this amazing tapestry of life is invaluable and cherished. This is the way of love.

This is you… an amazing presence of love.

The Oneness Thing

by Rebecca Couch -

Message from The Council of Light: Beloved Ones, We greet you in kindness and light. For this is the place you must be in to connect with us and so we remind you of this. Most of the time you remember, but you have your forgetful moments! Always remember the importance of holding your heart in this way, for all that you are looking for comes from this place. It is simple and pure and forever true.

Being kind to yourself is the greatest benefit, for in your deep desire to experience this in your life, you give it to yourself first and all things soften, all things grow and all things are possible in this receptivity. And so how does this really feel inside? It is choosing not to judge anything as anything other than a product of source energy. As long as you compartmentalize and label and sort everything into categories, then you will be limited in your experience of these same categories, one by one by one.

Remember, you get what you believe, and this is a very monotonous, boring, limited perspective from which to live your life. Undo the categories and put it all into one big conglomerate of source energy and Love the whole thing. This will dissolve the differentiations and separateness and allow your heart to accept the whole with Love. This will dissolve the experience of one thing and the next thing and the next as separate, disjointed moments that can bash you around in inconsistency, and meld them into one rich tapestry of life.

Then it is not so exhausting at the end of the day to reflect back on all the wild, seemingly disparate things that happened once you got out of the shower in the morning! The unifying thing is you. The great unifier of all of the seeming diverse experiences is you. So if you no longer keep all the circuits exclusive, you will find they unify quite naturally into one big ball of interconnectedness. You are the motherboard! And then of course, we realize that we are not separate from each other. But we’ll have to undo our separateness one step at a time!

Back to kindness and light. Stay there for a moment and relish its simplicity and purity. If this feels like Love’s bliss to you, decide to stay there permanently, at all times. If we all chose this simultaneously and stayed there, our experience of the world would change profoundly. Let’s do this!

Because of our compartmentalized thinking into time and place and judgment, we keep everything feeling so impossibly diverse and spinning out of control, that we forget that it is so much simpler than this. The Beatles had it right: “I know you, you know me. One thing I can tell you is you got to be free. Come together, right now - over me”. If you can truly come together by choosing in each moment to feel the sense of unity inside you – it is difficult to get there with your brain, but easy to feel in your heart the interconnectedness and inseparability and unity of all life - and really, how simple it is.

Ask to experience the feeling of oneness. Ask for help to anchor this truth in every cell of your being in every moment, and your world - the world - will transform in the blink of an eye. All seeded by kindness and light.

You can get this one. This one is easy, this oneness thing. Just decide that it is the key and so it shall be. This is the heart of the Golden Rule, for if we truly saw each other as the light of ourselves, then nothing would be miscreated. All would be in harmony with The One and the spiral of evolution would be expedited. And so, one heart at a time, we unify into the One Heart, One Love, One Light. Really. It is simpler than you think. Follow your heart, for it always knows the way.

Between Panic and Joy

by Jennifer Hoffman -

I was talking to a friend about the energies this past week, because they were so unsettled and so much seemed to be on the verge of happening but not quite ready to appear.

I described myself as being halfway between joy and panic, straddling the middle line between knowing that everything was going to be OK and yet not sure whether a full blown panic attack was going to be part of the next step.

She agreed that this was what she was feeling, knowing that something was getting ready to happen and the waiting was frustrating her as well.

We're in the 'hurry up and wait' part, where we have cleared out so much yet are still working through the remnants of the last of the energies. We are feeling the urgency of our task so we want to hurry up, thinking that this will create the opening that will begin the inflow of changes we know are coming.

Then the 'wait' part hits us because we are learning about patience, divine timing, shifting our concept of when and how things happen and remembering that as co-creators, we are partners and the Universe isn't always following behind us, instantly responding when we want it to.

This is our charge to lead and we really are making so much progress but as we step into multi-dimensional living and multi-linear time, our lives are taking on many more facets than we are accustomed to considering.

Where before we could see past, present and future, now we can are aware of all points in between and more. Everything is a possibility at this level and we need to develop laser sharp focus and get specific about what we want to create.

The Universe is urging us to be willing to release, clear, heal in preparation for what is coming next. Not because it is going to happen in the next five minutes but because each level of energy we clear brings so much more into our field of potential.

What do we do?

We do the clearing work and we wait for the signs that will show us the next steps on our journey.

While we are waiting we stay focused on what we want to create, refine our vision for our reality until it becomes so tangible and clear than when it does arrive, we will realize that we have already been in it.

The Bridge to Greater Love

by Julie Redstone -

Waiting for Someone Else to Change:

We live in a world of relationships in which we are always asking for things and giving things, more of one and less of the other depending on who the 'other' is in our life.

With some it is very easy to be generous, tolerant and forgiving – to create leeway in our hearts for them to make mistakes or to do things that we would rather not have them do.

We find a space within ourselves in which we can accept them as they are.

With others, their trespassing across a line of behavior, word, or thought – a line that we have drawn inwardly and often outwardly – causes a prickliness in us and a feeling of being easily wounded - a feeling of finding certain behaviors intolerable or of needing to run away because we feel disappointed or hurt.

Then, in our hearts and often outwardly, we ask that they be different so that we know how to be with them and so that our relationship can continue without so much difficulty.

There is a lot of pain in wanting others to be different.

There is the pain of feeling dependent upon someone who is not dependable. There is the pain of feeling helpless to create the change that we desire.

Most of all, there is the pain of feeling locked-in to our own responses so that we cannot react differently. For if we could react differently, then the behavior of another would not be a source of concern to us.

This mix of different kinds of distress can be acute or it can be longstanding, sometimes lasting for years or even for a lifetime. There is often a yearning to be free of the entire situation and an inability to know how.

In the corner of our awareness we know that more love and tolerance is needed but have difficulty finding these, despite our knowledge.

There is a bridge that it is possible to build that opens up greater love – a bridge built out of a truth we can recognize that enables us to be free.

It is a bridge of compassion that is composed of two things: on the one side, the recognition that the 'other' is doing the best that they can, all of the time, given the limitations that they face within themselves.

These limitations are part of their inheritance – part of the burden that they carry through life and they can only be put down when they are ready to be put down. Recognition that another is doing the best that they can defines one aspect of the bridge to greater love.

The other side of this bridge is defined by knowledge concerning ourselves. In a deep way, it involves knowing that we are alright and can feel whole no matter what anyone else says or does.

This knowledge of our capacity for wholeness and the feeling that our life is not dependent upon anyone else's unique response, cannot be simply a thought that we tell ourselves.

It must be an experience of inner integrity which allows us to absorb the limitation of the world and of others, without having to have the world change for our benefit. Such an experience of inner wholeness and love is the goal of a spiritual life.

We already have this knowledge within us, for the wholeness that we seek is already there.

It is a matter of finding it again. The finding of it allows us to recognize a choice that we have, and we make it all of the time: to recognize that unconsciousness is part of the way of the world at this time and we can react to it with disappointment or disapproval or we can focus on our own inner path to the things we seek, so that we become an agent of healing for the world, rather than a disappointed lover.

To let go of having to have another change is no small thing. It is huge in its implications. It is even revolutionary, for it can change our entire life. Yet, it is built on a capacity for greater love that we must seek within ourselves in order to find it.

Such seeking opens up the way to a life in which the source of love can increasingly be felt within us, and the wellspring of disappointment can dry up.

Shift in Perspectives

The letting go of the sense of needing another to be different for us may not disappear in a moment, a day, a week, a year or even longer - and yet it can.

It can disappear in an instant because it involves a simple shift in perspectives, a shift into a perspective of knowing that no matter what anyone else says or does, that we remain whole and ourselves, with the capacity to let go of the clinging that has made life painful.

This clinging, which we would so much rather do without, may ultimately be the agent which produces great benefits for us if we become aware of it in a deeper way.

For it can lead us to the path of becoming responsible for our own inner growth and it can lead us to the recognition that we become free by letting others be free to be themselves as well.

In this way, we gently move toward an inner capacity to live a life that is wholly based in love not because of what others give to us or do not give but because of what we feel capable of giving to the world.

Re-Ordering the World

 by Jennifer Hoffman -

We hear about the new world that is being birthed and wonder what else is going to have to be transformed before we can get back to the business of living.

If we have been sitting back, waiting for the changes to be completed so we can get back to ‘normal’ then we will be shocked when we realize the truth because never was, and has never been, a ‘normal’ paradigm for the world.

What we perceived as normal was only a brief snapshot of what is and has always been a shifting paradigm, an illusion created through the filters and belief systems that we hold individually and collectively.

We cannot go back to something that never really existed, no matter how much we want to be in that moment where we felt we were in control or knew what was going to happen next.

We have always been in the process of re-ordering the world, of shifting the illusion to reflect our own energetic paradigms as we worked to close old energetic cycles and bring in new ones.

The difference between then and now is that this time we are in conscious control of the paradigm, we just have to recognize it and use our power to re-order the world to fit these new energies.

The world always looks better from the perspective of the past, when we think back on the ‘good old days’ when life was quiet and predictable. Even if it was not what we wanted or there were power and control issues, we could, to some degree, accept that as inevitable.

We were in the same situation as many others around us and misery loves company. But as we have grown into our true, divine nature, we find many aspects of our current reality unacceptable, we see the flaws and disconnections within its fabric and the battle between the soul and the ego takes on new meanings.

The soul urges us to press on towards reconnection and our power, the ego wants to hold back and stay within what it knows.

The more we resist the more our world gets dismantled as everything that is out of integrity with our power disconnects from us and we are, as many of us have experienced, looking at what used to be our life, wondering what we can salvage from the rubble the earthquake of disconnection has left behind.

While it may appear to be disastrous, this is our point of power where we get to re-order our world, to review each piece of the puzzle, to use what will work in our new world and release what doesn’t.

Creating a New Path

The most challenging aspect of this new world is the knowledge that whatever happens next is our decision. The world is not going to tell us what to do, that is part of the old paradigm that we have just taken apart.

We have moved from destiny to creation, from following a known, well worn path to creating an entirely new one.

The new world is waiting for us to create new, fulfilling realities that express the potential of these higher energies.

While we stand around nervously, waiting for someone to let us know it is safe to proceed, the energies build until we get another sign that it is time for us to move forward.

Moving Forward

In fact, we need to move forward because these new energies are many orders of magnitude faster and more responsive that anything we have ever known.

We do not have to wait months or years for things to manifest, they will manifest in weeks, days or sooner. But while it responds quickly, this energy does not always respond in ways that we anticipate.

We must be clear with our intention and in integrity energetically with what we wish to manifest.

So asking for something with having the beliefs and intention that support it simply will not work. What we will create will show us where we lack faith, clarity and integrity. There is no middle ground with this energy, we are either at its level or not and the results will show us where we need to make corrections.

Beyond Karma

Prior to this time, we began each lifetime at the energetic vibration of a lifetime we left behind. This is why we spent so much time in the energies of our soul groups, working through lessons that we have repeated many times before.

This energy begins at a level that is well beyond karma, healing and past life lessons. We have been wishing and hoping for a new reality and here it is.

Have we become so accustomed to waiting that we do not know what to do now that we have arrived? Are we afraid that once we take that first step, no one will be there to greet us or will follow us into our new world?

Our Potential
While we may think we need others’ guidance and supportive presence, we can take this journey alone.

In fact, we have always been on an individual journey, no matter how many people our life contained.

Where we may have been so intertwined in each other’s energy that we felt their life was ours too, as we re-order our lives and take back our power, we realize how scattered and diffused our energy has been.

Then we see what a small portion of our energy we have been using for ourselves and how much we have been giving to everyone else.

Re-ordering the world begins with us, how we choose to use our energy, embrace our power and consciously create the life and the world we wish to have.

Re-ordering the world has little to do with destruction and everything to do with moving energy, reclaiming our resources and remembering who creates the unfolding reality that is the expression of our potential.

Consulting Your Soul

by Dr. Wayne Dyer -

Recently I approached a traffic light where a man stood in shabby clothes with a three-legged dog by his side. As I waited for the light to change I looked at this scene with compassion and felt an urge to contribute something. The sign he was carrying indicated that he was homeless.

The people in my car commented that he was a strong young man, there were plenty of employment opportunities and why should anyone give to people who are capable of working.

They indicated a kind of mild contempt for this man soliciting funds whom they felt "should" be working. My thoughts were on him and the fact that he cared for and fed this crippled dog. I rolled down the window and gave him several dollars for which he expressed enormous gratitude.

As the companions in my car semi-scolded me for being a sucker and for enabling him to continue to be a beggar I thought of some words of Mother Teresa.
"You see, in the final analysis, it is all between you and God, it was never between you and them anyway."
Truly this was not between me and my friends in the car, nor was it between that homeless man and me. It was between God and me. Something inside of me urged me to extend love and a little cash to the man and his dog. That "something" was a fleeting moment of consulting my soul.

To me, spiritual and physical are not two separate dimensions of reality.

I think of spiritual practice as a way of making my life work at a higher level and receiving guidance for handling my problems. The ways in which I do this involve a few simple basic practices.

BASIC SPIRITUAL PRACTICES
· Surrender is the most crucial and perhaps most difficult for me. In surrendering, my thoughts are something like this: I simply do not know how to resolve this situation and I am turning it over to the same force that I turn my physical body over to every night when I go to sleep. I trust in this unseen part of me to keep my heart beating, my blood circulating, and so on.
· Accessing spiritual solutions means converting my inner thoughts and feelings from discord and disharmony to love. In the spirit of surrender and love I silently chant, "I invite the highest good for all concerned to be here now." I try to see anger, hatred and disharmony as invitations to surrender and love. With this understanding I have the option to allow spirit to manifest and work through me.
· I believe my spirit is inseparable from the infinite. Having a relationship with the infinite part of myself encourages my recognition of spiritual solutions. The awareness of my infinite nature is terrific for putting everything into perspective.
· My approach to problem-solving involves cultivating an empty mind. In this space I listen, and allow myself to have complete faith that I will be guided in the direction of resolution. I let go of my ideas about how something should be resolved.
· Finding spiritual solutions to my life's problems always involves generosity and gratefulness. For me, this means giving my life to my soul purpose and being grateful for the opportunity to do so. I believe that I get back from the world what I put out to the world, not only physically but also in terms of my thoughts. So, I recommend spiritual practices that involve being generous and grateful with thoughts as well as actions.
· Nurturing a sense of connectedness to everyone and everything invites spiritual solutions. When I see myself as connected I am not looking for occasions to be offended or to judge. I don't see anyone as my enemy or an obstacle. This is how I relinquish negative self-talk and connect to the solutions that are available to me. In moments of despair I try to affirm, "I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing that is separate from me."
· Finally I choose cheerfulness as a gauge of my level of spiritual consciousness at any given moment. The more cheerful, happy, contented and satisfied I am feeling, the more aware I am of my connection to spirit.
So, does all this mean I'm suggesting that you always give money to people who ask for it? No. But I am suggesting that the next time you see someone asking for money; look at that situation as being between you and your spiritual consciousness - between you and God.

Consult your soul and if you feel that you don't want to give, don't. But rather than letting anger or judgment rule the moment, offer that person a silent blessing from the part of you that is a part of him.

This is consulting your soul.

The Warmth of Your Heart

 by Gloria Wendroff -

Heavenletters:

How warming is a heart of love. Receiving the warmth of love is like sitting before the hearth on a cold winter night. You warm your hands. Your cheeks grow rosy. This is how life is meant to be. Warm.

Everyone would love to receive the warmth of your heart. So then, beloveds, give it. Give your love generously. Let everyone live with the expectation of receiving your love the moment you appear. When you enter a room, let all eyes turn to you as the nourisher of their hearts.

There are people like this. Whether consciously or not, there are people who love all and are generous with their love, not shy to give it, not shy to call attention to it. All eyes turn to such people. Eyes turn because it is a given that such people know how to give love and so they give it.

Whether in word or deed or in great silence, love is what they give. Those who see them enter the room they are knowing that their heart's longing for love is soon to be quelled. When the person who really knows how to love leaves the room, his love is still warm and vibrant there. It has been passed on.

Let you be one like this who gives the thirsty to drink and fills up the hearts that long for nourishment.

If you must play a role on Earth, then play the role of one who knows how to give love and gives it. Be one who looks to fill the needs of others and not to foil them. Because your love is expected is no reason for you to withhold it. It is My Will, beloveds, that you love, and that means filling other hearts and, therefore, your own.

Be a sower of love.

Be the initiator and giver of love. Be like the sunshine that shines for all. The sun simply shines, and it shines for all. All are in the range of the sun. The sun asks for nothing but to shine.

Be like the sun. Let it be your request that you simply shine love. See how well you can step into My shoes. Step into them, you will, but when? But what are you waiting for, beloveds? Today is the day to start. There is no better day than the one right now. It is in your grasp.

Think of a world where you give love generously, and everyone has a heart at ease, knowing that love from you is about to appear. Oh, beloveds, seas will part for you. The whole world will welcome you. You will walk down a sunbeam and shine the light of My love on all.

What else but My love would you like to cast on the world? The world has had plenty of everything except the love it craves. The world waits and waits for more love. It has been left standing at the corner. The whole world is waiting for you. It is waiting for you to come and reveal your love.

It may be that you haven't seen your love. It may be that your love has been hiding even from you. You may have to open your eyes before others can open theirs.

Wouldn't it be lovely if love were a given? Wouldn't it be lovely if everyone today could expect love to come? To come even unbidden. To come from all sides and over and over again. What if everyone today could look forward to heaps of love coming from every which direction? What if everyone could pull out the love from their hearts and distribute it freely? What if you would?

Letting Go of Roles

by Julie Redstone -

Many people are afraid to let go of roles.

Roles create a comfort zone of how to respond to situations, people, and expectations. At the same time, they limit the depth of encounter with life and its possibilities.

Not being in a role is a choice that can be made by each heart.

It is a choice one makes in service to life and love, not out of the personal ego. Such a movement places you in unknown territory where your love and desire to connect, embrace, and support others may be met with indifference or fear. It may be misunderstood and turned away from.

Nevertheless, the choice to live beyond roles is a calling of the heart, as deep as any other that God awakens. It only takes one heart to respond to this calling.

That heart will seize every opportunity, look for every opening, and experience gratitude for every possibility that steps beyond the limits of the pre-conceived and the stereotyped.

Led by love, this heart will make a deliberate choice to remain open when others are closed and to remain fearless, when others are fearful.

It will do this not out of a desire to break down defenses, but out of a desire to uphold, to liberate, and to bring the joy of self-expression and true being to others.

At a certain point in time, the choice to step beyond roles is not even a choice but an inevitability.

For the flow of life that is God engages the heart, body, and soul to such a degree that something less than complete presence and complete availability to love's purposes is no longer possible. Then, only love remains, and the myriad ways in which it can come into being.

The Soul of Humanity

by Don Miguel Ruiz -

Light is alive and it carries the message of life all around the universe.

I believe in angels. The word angel means messenger. Everything that exists is a manifestation of one being and it manifests through messengers. Messengers deliver the will of the one being and the supreme messenger is light.

Light, the divine messenger, has billions of different frequencies. Though it is only one being, it divides itself for the creation of life into our beautiful Mother, the planet Earth. Every vibration of light has a specific message for every kind of life that exists in this beautiful world.

There is a specific frequency of light that carries information for the creation of humans.

That ray of light manifests as DNA and only creates humans — you and me. We are beings of light because we are beings of energy.

The force of life that manifests as humans recognizes its own kind. It is the soul of humanity and it is a major angel. The soul of humanity is a messenger; you are a messenger and your message is your life.

In your heart is the real message that humans have been trying to deliver.

For so many years we have delivered the wrong message: a message of fear, a message of selfishness, a message of anger, violence, and injustice. This message is not ours.

Humans were made for love; our function is to love.

Sharing love is human nature because we come from love, we come from light, we come from our Creator. Our nature is to love and to play, to enjoy life, and to be happy.

We have a message to deliver — first to ourselves and then to one another.

That message is to remember what we really are, to remember our real nature and to become what we really are. It doesn’t matter where we are born; it doesn’t matter what language we speak. We are only one being; we come from the same ray of light and we have the same message.

Our message is love and joy.

You can recover the integrity that you lost as a child.

You can recover the message that you haven’t delivered for so long, and start delivering it again. The voice of integrity, the voice of your spirit, is always speaking to you even if you don’t want to listen. And that voice is saying, “I love you.”

In every activity of your life, you can express the real message of your heart, the message you are feeling right now. When you express what you really are in life, only beauty can come out of you, only joy and respect and happiness.

Today, imagine all the love flowing from your heart to all the people who need your love.

Join your heart with my heart and together let’s offer our love to the world. By putting our hearts together and sending our love to all of humanity, the moment will come when their hearts will react to that love. They will express their love also, the same way that we are expressing our love.

Dreamer or Doer?

by Ralph Marston -

Is it best to be a dreamer or to be a doer?
Actually, it is helpful to be both. In all great creations, the idealistic exists with the pragmatic in elegant proportions.
A dream is of little value unless you put action into it and action won't get you very far unless there is meaningful purpose behind it.
Allow yourself to dream grand, magnificent dreams that express the deepest essence of who you are. Then let those dreams pull you steadily through the practical, nuts-and-bolts work of making them real.
Work through each day with diligence and persistence, doing what there is to be done. As you do, stay close to the dreamer that always lives within you. As a dreamer, you can envision a world and a life with no limits. As a doer, you can focus on something that has never existed before and make it real.
Let your most treasured dreams focus your actions and let your actions express your dreams.
Be both a dreamer and a doer and dive deeply into the multifaceted treasure that is your life.
