What Would a Selfless Spirit Be Like?

by Dr Glen Hepker -

Quite humbly and respectfully, I am speaking of the ‘spirit’ with which one goes about doing what one does…one’s demeanor or mien. In my ages-old arts it is coined as ‘shen.’

Again, “what would a selfless spirit of healthful, heartfelt goodness be like?”

  • Would it be light and free, yet full of dignity, decency, goodness, and grace?
  • Would its selflessness be consistent with resplendently endeavoring to do the right thing for the right sake…without the need for selfish recognition or hidden agendas?
  • Would such a spirit be full of the ‘truth,’ e.g., that we are all SO very much more in the same common boat than we often think and act (the primary fault of humankind being the notion that you are there and I am here)?
  • Would such a spirit recognize the true responsibility of supporting others in their healthful goals?
  • Would such a spirit recognize the true responsibility of making the world a better place…treating life as a living loving art form?
What would all of this mean in practical application, in daily life? In such a spirit, would it be difficult to ALWAYS be genuinely honest (with others AND ourselves) – maybe living in a state of fear, e.g., worrying that one would hurt others’ feelings if one was always honest?

As the old sayings go, “What would Christ do?” “What would Buddha do?” Again (quite!) humbly and respectfully,

I believe it is highly likely that Christ and Buddha would be quintessentially loving in speaking the honest truth, no more…no less.

I believe they would be the living loving embodiment of true appreciation and true forgiveness.

Is it possible that we can see them not just as impeccable examples of true health and true responsibility…but humbly and respectfully as mentors?

It IS likely quite true(!) that perfection (for us) on this Earth is not possible – perfection may be only found in Heaven (albeit, here on Earth a greatest of blessings may be in that there is always room for improvement).

Could it be, at least in an ideal sense, that we have a dire responsibility to at least try to live in an all-healing spirit of true appreciation…treating life as a living loving art form (maybe a ‘work of art’ – oh boy!)?

If there is a Heaven, a ‘key to the universe,’ they are rooted in true honesty, promoting of true happiness and true freedom…but most importantly, nothing to hide behind.

Maybe here on this Earth, we can learn to (in a splendidly healthful ‘spirit’) catch regular glimpses.

Combining Co-Creation and Collective Intelligence

Why combining co-creation and collective intelligence?

It is a common trend to be in favour of open innovation and co-creation. We have all heard about the wisdom of crowds, bringing the outside in, and we all believe in "none of us is as smart as all of us”.

Collective wisdom considers “multiple opinions and forms of intelligence. Wisdom in groups is demonstrated by insight, good sense, clarity, objectivity and discernment rooted in deep caring and compassion”. We connect on political, social and economic strategies and understand psychological, spiritual and cultural roots.

Co-creating and collective intelligence/wisdom are forming hybrid forces, a calling to reclaim the participation of people in groups as positive, useful, healing and life affirming. We alter the way that we see the world in order to solve problems together.

It is a fact that humans today love to participate in problem-solving online, to have a voice and to express themselves, to be a part of the story-telling of new media and to be a part of the collective intelligence process.

The cultural, economic and political changes brought on by online intelligence sharing, via different media, have been truly amazing and reflect extraordinary cultural shifts in the 21st century. There is a huge opportunity out of there, people feel right to collaborate to solve higher issues, higher order of problems or matters.

Enabling is one thing, participating quite another. Mass dialogue just does not simply happen. There are many reasons why people feel restrained to freely engage and exchange ideas. Tech by itself will not overcome these obstacles.

Captivating your audience requires purpose, encouragement and reciprocity.

We need to create a context for mass dialogue and co-creation, unleashing the tacit knowledge and passion of people around brands, products and organizations.

What is co-creation, really, and how do you do it right?

Co-creation is a system where ideas are shared and repeatedly fed back through groups of specially chosen individuals. They filter, refine and evolve those ideas.

Co-creation involves working on new product and service ideas together with the customers who are going to buy them. We are all customers and we all use products/services that are good but that can be improved with our precious advices of whom spend more time on using them than their inventors or creators.

Lots of people, even experts and technicians, know how to improve products, they know the answers to simple questions or questions that have been asked before but when the questions are new and more complicated individuals tend to have hunches rather than answers.

They know part of the answer but not all of it. Bring enough people with hunches together and collectively they will be able to work out the answer. Co-creation is the way, a win win solution for companies and customers or simplier, for people.

That's it. Simple. But not easy.

Collective intelligence and the modern technologies are not enough to establish a new way of working and make things happen.

The collective intelligence concepts are out there since a century and internet since 30 years and only few good examples of right implementation of this powerful force, such as Wikipedia to mention one.

Co-creation is the way, the path to bring the collective intelligence and the collective wisdom to real and practical applications of the society, using the real engine of progress, the people and company entrepreneurship.

The Integral Heart and Our Evolutionary Future

by Terry Patten -

The "Integral Heart" embodies a disposition that pays attention to the core of all things—the center that also connects with—and integrates—all dimensions of reality.

The word "heart" comes from an Anglo-Saxon root-word connoting the "very center" or "core."

The ancient lore of yoga posited three hearts — the beating physical heart on the left, the subtle feeling heart chakra in the middle, and the conscious causal heart on the right.

The core of things can be found quite practically right here in the physical plane; it can be found through the opening of the heart in transpersonal love; and it can be found by realizing the radical consciousness at the root of existence.

The Integral Heart explicitly emphasizes the connection of consciousness, care and embodiment. It stands in the inseparability of the intelligence of the Integral impulse with the unified, awakened feeling awareness associated with the heart and the body.

It opens up a conversation: How do we actually live the Integral Heart? —especially in this time and place.

Living the Integral Heart

We live in "interesting times." We face multiple challenges so large they transcend human history, challenges that can only be understood on an evolutionary scale.

Such conditions require profound, inclusive, caring intelligence and commitment, not mere calculation.

That’s what is signified by the words "Integral Heart."

Our political, social and economic institutions seem helpless, bound by a spaghetti-tangle of tunnel-vision karmas and Catch-22 dynamics.

We Are Each Called

Only mighty, multidimensional, whole-being intelligence, anchored in the heart, has a hope to meet the challenges of our time.

We are each called by our evolutionary emergency—by problems that cannot be solved at the level through which they were created.

We are called to wake up, to heal ourselves, to serve others, to cooperate and to evolve human culture and society.

We must transcend and include all that has come before us, and embody our highest heart-intelligence in our personal commitments, our intimate relationships, our careers and our contributions to the world.

It's a big task. It's a humbling, sometimes painful task and it's a joyful one. But it doesn't help to get hyped up over it, or grandiose. If we are going to survive and evolve, it will only be with our feet planted firmly on the ground.

This means we must engage in a deep, authentic process of growth and transformation. It means we must respectfully help each other evolve.

We must further the great adventure of human consciousness, which, with all its twists and turns, peaks and pitfalls, is the process of history itself.

A New Enlightenment

Escola de Atenas (crop) - by RaphaelIn the 17th and 18th centuries, an "enlightenment" swept over the Western world—a new level of consciousness that sought to liberate individuals and institutions from the tyranny of tradition, guided by the light of reason.

The enlightenment brought us democracy, human rights and such notions as equality and "justice for all." But of course, it was an incomplete enlightenment.

It left a lot of people out. It glorified rationality at the expense of other legitimate forms of consciousness. Thus, in many postmodern circles, the whole notion of any kind of “enlightenment” was discredited. But nothing was offered to take its place.

In fact, we now need an even higher level of enlightenment. A greater, more inclusive, trans-rational enlightenment. An enlightenment of both the Mind and Heart (not to mention the Body, Soul, and Spirit!).

Just as the old enlightenment was inspired by the ideas and philosophies of the great thinkers of the time, our own enlightenment must also have its own grand ideas and maps.

This is important, because if we’re going to engage the process of waking up—and helping each other and many others, to wake up (imagine a viral or grassroots enlightenment movement)—we must make use of the best distinctions, vocabulary, and maps of reality we have available.

We must understand, transcend, and integrate our global inheritance of human wisdom and know-how—ancient, traditional, modern, and post-modern. We must be changed in our very way of being

We must comprehend and thus masterfully participate in a nuanced, flex-flowing, multi-dimensional world. We need Integral maps, Integral consciousness and an Integral Heart. That Heart has no way into the world except through us.

Realizing the Integral Heart

Ultimately, this site is part of a larger conversation between people who are concerned with the big issues and questions that we face not just as individuals but a species and as a nascent global society.

How can we bring greater love and spirit into the world?

How can we peacefully coexist coming from different cultural contexts, different religions (or non-spiritual backgrounds), different histories, different politics, different ecological sensibilities and even different levels of consciousness?

What's next for the inhabitants of this strange little planet in a boundless sea of stars and emptiness in all directions? Contributing to our evolutionary future is a great matter. It inspires me (and many). We often fall short of what's needed. I fall short. Yet we must keep trying.

Co-Weaving New Life

It was one of those moments: the kind of moment when you are fully present and witnessing an experience, knowing that something really big is happening. At our cabin on Johnson Lake, we have a steep grass slope that leads to the water.

I was mindfully taking conscious and careful baby steps down the hill as I had hundreds of times before. One quick slip and I heard the dreadful, spine-chilling “CRACK!” and went down.

I didn’t cry or laugh as I normally would with a sprained ankle or clumsy fall. I went into a hyper-alert, adrenalin-induced, emergency-medical-response mode.

Everyone else in the boat and on the patio heard the gruesome break as well.

They came running. “Get some ice and ibuprofen,” I directed when my family asked what I needed and what they could do to help. “And, get those cedar planks above the washer that we grill fish on. We can use them for a splint.”

The ice and ibuprofen came quickly. My cedar planks were vetoed for soft, rolled-up towels and Press and Seal plastic wrap.

The Emergency Room doctor was impressed with my family’s creative ingenuity.

After cutting off the wrap and examining my leg and ankle, he said he thought I broke my ankle. I said, “Maybe, but I know my shin bone is broken.”

He touched my leg again and said, “No, I think it’s your ankle.” The ex-rays came back and we were both right. I had a spiral fracture on my left tibia and a break on both sides of my ankle.

When a fracture of the bone occurs, the body leaps into action to begin the healing process.

There are three important stages in healing a fractured bone.

  • First is the inflammatory phase,
  • second the reparative phase, and
  • third the remodeling phase.
I think the second is particularly interesting. The reparative phase begins about two weeks after the fracture occurs. In this stage, proteins begin to consolidate into what is known as a soft callus.

This soft, new bone substance eventually hardens into a hard callus as the bone “weaves together” over a six to twelve week period. The genius within the body repairs itself. I often sat with my leg elevated in a heavy, full-leg cast imagining and visualizing the bones weaving together.

I am in awe of how the Designing Intelligence of Creation continues to do its thing – assisting my body to weave new bone. How magnificent. The body has such an extraordinary and complex design. My body knows exactly what to do. I simply have to sit back, rest and allow it to do its thing.

Now, twelve weeks later, I wait for the day when I am able to take my first NEW steps forward on my leg, I am grateful for life’s genius. The lessons from this experience have been invaluable. Life gave me “a break.”

It’s been a time of pause, reflection, healing, and surrender – “a weaving of the new” in so many ways.

I have learned to literally partner with and trust the Designing Intelligence more completely. In doing so, I have been immersed in the creative flow of the Universe.

The same Intelligence that heals my bones also has my back and desires to co-create more fully with me. The same Intelligence that weaves new bone also holds the material of Creation together – my experiences, relationships, nature, humanity, earth and the cosmos. I am not separate from this Divine Intelligence.

The Intelligence is in me and I am in it. I am not separate from the weaving. I am part of it. I am a co-weaver neatly interlaced within Creation.

As I move forward, each new step is entwined with the consciousness of this interconnected reality. The new me listens even deeper for guidance and direction as I practice attuning to the Intelligence.

As I surrender to the co-creative process, I midwife and steward new projects, knowing they come through me but not of me.

I align with the highest good of Creation and trust that the expression of my individual threads is unique and an integral part of the fabric of life.

The new me shares my gifts in synergistic play with others to bring forth this new, unitive consciousness and a new world. The more I honor the wisdom and power of the Designing Intelligence, the more resources and opportunities come to me – naturally… organically.

Now, I’m on the precipice of another one of those moments, knowing that something really big is about to happen. I am preparing to leap forward, trusting the Designing Intelligence and saying, “Yes!” to what presents.

The world looks very different now. It is alive and supportive and interactive. I have an intimate relationship – a sacred union – with the Designing Intelligence that has healed my bones.

With gratitude, I will put my best foot forward and delight as Creation continues to create through me. There will be no more careful baby steps. For it is time to leap into full co-creation. With the assistance of my incredible intelligence partner, I am co-weaving new life.

Why the Will Matters

by Steve Nation -

Vision of Wholeness:

We are living at a time when the vision of wholeness is seeping into consciousness, upsetting all sorts of established patterns of thinking, seeing and acting.

As a species we are, perhaps for the first time in any collective sense, beginning to care about the good of the whole, noticing that the well-being of the individual unit in any system depends upon the well-being of the environment within which it is embedded.

There are huge challenges in lifting our vision so as to see the patterns of synthesis and order in a whole system.

Yet we are on the way, aware of the need to perceive forces of interdependence and the primary role of relationships between different entities in any system.

This raises inevitable tensions.

Established habits of separative thinking (engrained within each and every one of us and dominating modern cultures) rub up against the new sensitivity to the integrity and well-being of the whole.

These tensions are most obvious in issues of the day such as climate change; competition for available water resources; social and economic inequalities; fundamentalist and inclusive integral approaches to religion, economics, politics, and so on.

These tensions also live within us as we become increasingly aware of the wholeness of our own being with its dimensions of mind, spirit, soul, and body (subtle and physical).

It is no coincidence that just at the time in history when the wholeness vision is creeping into the thinking of intelligent women and men across the whole spectrum of diverse cultures, professions, arts and sciences, there is a parallel—almost gut-level—awareness that, because of historically embedded pathways of competition and separation, humanity has become an endangered species.

Nothing concentrates the mind more than imminent danger.

It is precisely in this situation that it becomes necessary to observe the role of the will at all levels of the relationship between the wholeness vision and ourselves.

How often do we hear the cry that there is a lack of political will in the world and in our own lands? It is a cry that must be answered and is being answered.

We human beings in our millions are being called upon to give expression to the wholeness vision with a dynamic will— in our lives, in our groups, in our professions, communities, schools, colleges and universities and in our deepest circles of faith and spirit.

All of us who have been touched deeply by the sense that we are part of a greater whole ultimately have no choice but to become, in small human ways, units of loving will-full activity, seeking to create patterns of synthesis and wholeness in every aspect of our lives.

The future depends on our willingness to approach the opportunities of our time with a sense of purpose.

This may be a rather nebulous purpose when we set out, but it is important to imagine it becoming, through time and experience, an unshakeable, rock-like centre of our being.

If this sounds too ‘majestic’ or ‘grand’ or ‘noble,’ we should remember that the will is all about the intention we apply to small steps in bringing our sense of wholeness into expression in our lives, our professions, and our fields of passion and interest.

Over time, patterns of quiet persistence emerge as we notice and care about the progress we are making towards reorienting our lives and our communities in response to the wholeness vision.

Dag Hammarskjöld | United Nations DPI

In the middle of the last century, soon after the formation of the United Nations, the visionary Secretary-General of the organization, Dag Hammarskjöld, spoke of the Taoist view that the world cannot be shaped by the will and purpose of human beings because the world is a spiritual thing.

Hammarskjöld commented,
No one can foresee with certainty what will emerge from the give and take of the forces at work in any age. We cannot mould the world as masters of a material thing… But, he added, we can influence the development of the world from within as a spiritual thing.
This leads into the central role of the will in our time.

The efforts to shape the world as a material thing, to be mastered and dominated, are what have led to so many of the environmental problems we face.

Partly in response to these problems there is a growing awareness of the spiritual will—paying attention to the spirit of wholeness and seeking to act in ways that reflect concern for the good of the whole.

For Hammarskjöld, this awareness has great significance:
As individuals and groups we can put our influence to the best of our understanding and ability on the side of what we believe is right and true. We can help in the movement towards those ends that inspire our lives and are shared by all [people] of good will—in terms very close to those of the Charter of the United Nations—peace and freedom for all, in a world of equal rights for all.
Fresh insights into the nature of the whole milieu in which we live and move and have our being (the physical environment; the human, animal, and plant environment; and the spiritual environment) call us to love… purposively.

They call us to a will to love—a will that leads us to explore how we might love selflessly and how we might grow in our capacity to love transparently and without expectations.

Resistance to this call comes from elements of self-interest and self-absorption that are a part of our human nature.

It also comes from the voices of those who stridently refuse to see that the realities of wholeness demand deep changes in our understanding of ourselves and in the way we live, from our response to climate change and the use of energy to our undisciplined obedience to the manipulation of competitive market forces in the economy.

It is these forces of resistance (both within and without) that lead us to draw on hidden depths of will that are beyond our understanding, reaching in to areas of faith, grace and the sense of a Greater Will—for the world is a spiritual thing.

Two qualities of consciousness and of being have been central to our understanding of human development as well as our understanding of the divine: the light of knowledge and the radiance of love and wisdom.

It might be argued that the human meditation on these principles (through time and across all faiths and traditions) has created the conditions in which the revelation of wholeness has now become possible.

Today, in order to respond appropriately to the challenges of the wholeness vision and to the damaged ecosystems that have been caused by our ancient habits of separation, it is the third quality of consciousness and of being, the third quality of divinity, will, that is becoming of primary concern.

Countless acts of will, particularly in its higher dimensions (the transpersonal will, the will to love, the good will, the will to harmonize apparent opposites, and the will to act for the good of the whole) are required today in response to the crises we face.

This is not a call to cold discipline. It is a call to re-value the will, particularly in its more refined expressions.

The planetary life of which we are a part displays patterns of order, harmony, beauty, beneficence, nobility, and joy.

As we first sense the dim outlines of the magnificence of the whole, there is an awakening will to understand and see more clearly and to experience its livingness more fully, as well as an awakening will to live in some degree of right relationship with the joy, harmony, and beauty that are revealed.

The will leads to action—action to awaken and broaden our intuitive as well as our scientific understanding of wholeness and action to move ourselves, our communities and our world into right relationship with this vision of wholeness.

Time to Hold the Will in the Light

In the past, the will was often understood in terms of ‘thou shalt not’ and of power over others—maintaining a stiff upper lip in the face of difficulties and repressing anything unpleasant or not understood.

We know that repression doesn’t work and that trying to battle on without addressing issues as they arise or without ever questioning what we are doing simply sets up new problems for the future.

More often than not, problems and issues are a sign of something needing to be addressed—something that is out of alignment.

The deeper will is concerned with purpose and with understanding the role that purpose can play in crafting a fulfilling and meaningful life. It is about fostering a sense of direction and nurturing a realistic sense of future possibilities. ‘Thou shalt’ replaces ‘Thou shalt not.’

In a sense, the will is all about the way in which we as individuals and groups respond to our perception of human need and to our sense of the future.

As problems arise in our communities and in the world as a whole, they provide an opportunity to heal, transform and redeem ancient patterns of separation.

As such, the problems can be embraced.

In learning about a particular social problem, we can train ourselves to recognize the forces that are causing the problem (forces in the human psyche reflected in economic, social, and cultural dynamics) while at the same time looking for the individuals and groups that are responding to these forces in a meaningful way—using the problem to break through ancient thought forms of division and to nurture love and goodwill in the community and to empower disadvantaged groups and individuals with a sense of their own dignity and possibilities as human beings.

In the process of responding to the problems of our time something wonderful is happening to human beings. The quality of will is being mobilized as never before.

It is happening at the local level in every community on the planet, just as it is happening regionally, nationally and globally.

There is today a vast network of groups of citizens that are applying the will to transform the quality of human relationships. Think of the vitality and purpose of the 350.org movement, or of the mindfulness networks that are emerging in health, healing and education around the world.

Think of the One Campaign fighting extreme poverty with almost 6 million global members. Think of the activities of countless Amnesty International groups throughout the world, or of the countless actions by concerned citizens on the International Day of Peace every September 21st.

These are just the tip of the iceberg — we are living at a time when people of concern are becoming willfully engaged in diverse ways to transform the quality of relationships on earth.

There have always been periods in history when forces of goodwill coalesce with an unusual degree of singleminded purpose and focus.

In the US for example, there was an extraordinary period during the height of the civil rights struggle when a culture of hatred, lawlessness, and violence was confronted by countless acts of individual and group courage.

The anti-apartheid movement (within South Africa and around the world) saw a similar concentration of will. What is different about the will that is emerging today is that it is emerging as a universal force.

Millions of people feel themselves to be a part of the One Humanity and the One Earth and feel a measure of personal responsibility and engagement in building a culture and civilization that reflects this new awareness.

The good will is arising amongst individuals across the face of the globe, just as it is arising in groups and movements in every field of activity.

There is an awareness of a common purpose that links community development groups with human rights groups, those working for the empowerment of women with groups targeting the need for nutritious food, and the massive global movement calling for new economic and political structures in response to the challenges of climate change.

We are witnessing a quiet and steady mobilization of the will in human affairs.

The process of dialogue and negotiation surrounding the definition of a new set of achievable Sustainable Development Goals for the future of humanity at the United Nations is one of the clearest examples of the new role that the will is now playing in the world.

Previous planning initiatives at the United Nations tended to be ideologically and politically driven with high-sounding objectives.

In 2000, this began to change with the declaration of a set of eight Millennium Development Goals, each with specific targets to be achieved by 2015 and with annual reports measuring progress on each target.

Now the process has moved forward in preparation for a new set of goals to take us through to 2030, and this time there is a massive process of negotiation between different stakeholders, movements, civil society organizations, businesses, and governments.

The final goals will be declared at a global summit next year.

They will reflect some sort of balance between the self-interest of nation states (particularly the powerful interests of the five permanent members of the Security Council as defined by their governments) and the wider interests of the common good.

These wider interests have already been well-defined within a set of 17 goals (each with specific measureable targets) prepared after lengthy negotiations by a Working Group of the General Assembly.

They include the following:

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. Reduce inequality within and among countries. End poverty in all its forms everywhere. Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Goals like this set intentions and help focus the will of different networks and associations (including governments) to ensure that targets are met.

They move from statements of principle, such as the Declaration of Human Rights, to become statements of focused purpose where each country and each particular social movement is left free to determine how to concentrate their energies on achieving specific targets and broader goals.

People of concern linked into groups and networks of focused concern (groups like the Commons Movement, the New Economy movement, the Sustainable Development movement) are using the opportunities of the time to bring purpose and will into the centre of their beings and their activities.

There is a vitality and vibrancy about the new movements—and what the General Assembly’s set of Goals demonstrate is that a momentum of intentional activity is building that has the power to lead us into a new era.

How to Stay Connected to the Light

andersheim
by Roswitha v. Andersheim -
What is this “Light connection” or the Source of the spiritual in relationship to the material? Awareness of the unseen gives us the opportunity to lay aside distractions. The near-silent modifier of our daily thoughts attempts to guide us to its source.
For untold millions, religion is a path prescribed by conditioning through familial or social pressure. Stepping aside from this imposition of beliefs, one learns to ignore incessant distractions, and arrives at inner silence.
The phenomena of our natural world parade by, but it leaves us with the questions: Where does all this come from — and who created this? Most importantly, why?

Is all of this for the entertainment of the Source? Why, among this splendid and beautiful creation, is there so much pain?
A connection is a relationship between two sources of energy. Unfortunately, we rarely think of the unseen connection of consciousness, which unites all living beings — and most especially, humankind.
We are connected to the Source from the time we are born, until the hour of our release.
Everyday lives

It is difficult to find one person who is not connected to an activity. From when we awaken in the morning until — more often than not — late at night, we are busy with chores of one kind or another.
We’re involved in mentally and physically challenging work. Our lives are arranged according to the choices we have made, or the choices that were made for us.
Our human connections are vital to our survival as interacting, contributing individuals of our society. We are a decidedly gregarious species and as John Donne said, “No man is an island.”
The demands of our days, more often than not, compel us to forget the other side of our connection: namely, the unseen, inner generator of all that moves us from one task, project or plan to the next one.

Little do we reflect on our daily distractions, whether they range from work to background or foreground entertainment, as in TV programs, or the tingle-tangle of meaningless sounds.
When we recognize that a distracted world has us cornered, we may want to take a specific time twice a day to “take leave of our senses” — so that in silence, we may recover our equanimity.

Ask the basic question:
Why am I here, on this planet, at this time, in this condition?
What is purpose?
We may conclude that human purpose is to share a contribution that will bring greater comfort, enjoyment, peace and relief from pain to one or many.

After all, the essence of all desires is to derive pleasure, and to avoid pain.
Connect with Light

How, then, is it possible to connect our consciousness to Light? What Light? One way of defining the Light is: the Love who eternally creates all manifest consciousness.
To recognize that Light, seriously consider the heart of any living creature — especially our own. The latter often is a source of anxiety, because of health issues.

Consider the heart of a chick embryo, under a microscope. It beats, non-stop, until the observer discards the yolk, upon which the embryo thrives — just as humanity discards billions of beating animal hearts daily, for a misunderstood need.
The observer or listener to a heart does well to enter into silence and contemplate the mystery of life. No course in history, no study of any science or art, will substitute.
If the mystery is so profound and constitutes an ineffable, unconditional and infinite Love, why is there such endless distraction of evil in this world? It is because we have failed to connect with the Light.
Those who are concerned enough, who care enough, will come together.
The tool for such exercise is the cooperation of the Light-minded. It isn’t enough to say prayers on the seventh day in church or synagogue or mosque.

We must wrap the evildoers into self-reflection by focusing our Light energy around their consciousness.
Our Light energy, united with other Light energies, will confer peace onto a world, on the cusp of emancipation.

5 Ways to Stop Criticizing and Judging Others

by Krishanti Wahla -

Very few people can honestly say they don't judge or criticize others. I can't. Can you?

In fact, many of us see things in black and white (whether we are aware of it or not), righteously and firmly planted in the belief that we are right and others are wrong...or assuming that we know what other people's motives are but really, in essence having no idea.

When we judge people or events we create constricting energy that boxes up our own vibration and even holds back the progress of our collective consciousness.

Think about it - do you ever really feel good when you're judging or criticizing someone else?

No. It puts you in an ugly, closed-off space. And in order to thrive and grow, you need to feel good, and to be in a strong, positive vibration. When you judge someone for being an ass, you're the ass, too - because you're all caught up in criticizing and judging them. And that's not cool.

It's not always easy to switch over to non-critical thoughts, though - so here are 5 ways to suspend judgement and get into the zone of all-for-one goodness.

5 WAYS TO SUSPEND JUDGEMENT
1. Just Knock it Off.
Easier said than done, right? But honestly, you've gotta stop at some point. Try this: the minute you start thinking negatively about someone, stop yourself mid-thought and ask yourself why you're going there, and correct the action while it's happening.
Either pull yourself into the present moment and train your brain to think about and focus on something else, or, if you have the time, take a moment to write down what you think about that person;  if you're angry, get it out!
Then crumple up the piece of paper, throw it out and be done with it (until the next critical thought comes up - and when it does and it will, do this again and again and again, until you finally end the cycle.).
2. Walk in Their Shoes
Don't think for a moment that you can know what ANYONE'S life is like until you walk in their shoes. You have no idea - you really, really have no idea - what their experience is.
Once you can accept that, you can disconnect, unplug and pull your vibration away from trying to figure out what you think is so wrong about that person's beliefs or actions.
Maybe, at some point or another, you'll experience something that the person you're judging is experiencing. Who's to say you'll react any better than they did, or do? You can't know their journey until you take it yourself.
3. Don't Assume ANYTHING.
Remember that to assume makes an ASS out of YOU and ME. Don't assume anything. You could be seriously wrong.
4. Create a loving heart.
Work on opening yourself up to being a lover, not a hater. Start by recognizing the people and animals you love easily, and allow your love to grow. Smile more. Imagine the asshole honking at you in traffic is your son or grandson, and send him love.
Recognize that the telemarketer is just doing her job, and send her love. Each morning, commit to having a loving heart, and to create a loving world.
It won't work overnight, but in time, you will cultivate a loving vibration that is much higher spiritually than criticism or judgement.
5. Know that it's not about you.
A huge reason why we're so critical and judgmental is that we act from our egos, taking life ever-so-personally. But no matter who you feel critical of - parents, children, friends, co-workers, bad doctors or dentists - pull yourself out of the interaction and truly realize that it's not about you.
People will act the way they're going to act regardless of whether you're there or not and you can't change that.
It takes a ton of effort to turn off criticism and judgement in a world that embraces it so wholeheartedly (just turn on the TV or pick up a tabloid) but once you begin to practice suspending these thoughts and vibrations, you'll realize that you actually feel better and that it's a lighter way of being.

I'm trying to adjust my thoughts and beliefs and I feel happier when I'm more understanding about people and less huffy-puffy, in a tizzy or mad at them for whatever they're doing that I perceive is uncool.

When you're truly un-judgemental, your energy flows and your vibration lightens up.

Change starts with one person and you, too, can be an influencer in this new thought movement making a difference that contributes to elevating the vibration of our entire planetary consciousness.

I'd say that's worth trying for. Is there a person or situation that gets you all judge-y and critical? I want to hear your experiences and see if these techniques will help - so please leave a comment.

Elevating the World

by Gloria Wendroff -

Today We will pay attention to your view of the world. You know by now that as you think, so thinks the world. It is also the reverse. The world has influenced you considerably. Your relationship with the world has been reciprocal.

As goes the world, so go you. As you go, so goes the world.

Yes, I understand that as a child, you were totally innocent. We could even say that you were the prey of world thought. But now, as an adult, the roles have changed.

The world is vulnerable to you. It is at your mercy. You can keep the world the way it has been, or you can inspire and uplift it.

You are already keeping the world in place or you are changing it. It is your choice.

You may well not have been conscious of your importance. You may even have shrugged your shoulders and said, "What can I do? Who can fight City Hall? This is the way the world is and will always be. I am as powerless as a fish on the line. There's nothing I can do." Have you not shrugged your shoulders and thought such thoughts?

Now you are conscious that you can turn the world around.

Not by barging in and ordering it. Not by fighting. Not by insistence. Not by pointing out the long list of details of its wrongs. Not by shooting bullets. There is only one way to change the world and that is by how you think of it.

Raise your thoughts and affection for the world, and you will be lifting the world a notch.

As you change how you focus on the world, you will be changing it. Yes, you. Your attention on the world will make all the difference in the world. Somehow your thoughts are known. Your thoughts are like the cues that are given to actors in a play. You feed the world its lines. You present a picture of the world and it goes by your picture.

When you do this, you are really catching two birds with one stone. By changing your thoughts, you also are changed. Your thoughts have vibrations. Raise your thoughts and your vibration goes up. It is sort of like getting higher scores on a test because of the way you apply yourself.

As best you can, not even once more complain. No more complaints. Don't say them out loud to anyone.

Don't listen to others when they gripe about the state of affairs either because you will be affected. Your vibration will sink. Beloveds, there is a world of difference in you according to the songs you sing and the songs you listen to.

Why sing a dirge when you can sing a ballad? Why curse when you can say nothing? Why listen to anyone else who may be badmouthing the world or anyone or anything? Are you with Me?

You most likely have convinced yourself that you are of no importance. You have likely believed that you have no say about circumstances and events. You have likely believed that you have no vote, or that your vote doesn't count.

The truth is that you have great power. The world may not count your vote, yet how you view the world counts enormously.

You accept that you affect the mood in your home, do you not? If you come home from work happy, your family responds. Even if they are in another room, they are happier. And if you come home angry, they feel it, and their mood may be dampened.

The same for you when you come home to someone happy to see you. You are elevated. And when you come home to complaints, do you not tend to close down? Why would it be any different for the world at large?

Obvious to you or not, you are affecting the world.

Living as a Soul

by Julie Redstone -

For each of us, to be a 'self' means something very personal, very different from every other. Yet there are commonalities. Throughout history, we have defined ourselves in terms of our bodily experiences and the characteristic ways in which we respond to life - our typical feelings, thoughts, and desires. This is what it has meant to be human and to be an "I".

Now, however due to the presence of greater spiritual light on the earth, we have the opportunity to begin to think of ourselves less as bodies or even as feelings and thoughts and more as souls. We begin to be able to live as souls.

To live as a soul changes many things.

It opens the mind of the heart that knows more than the conscious mind so that more can be felt in the way of truth about people and about life. It opens the eyes to see in a different way, so that what formerly appeared to be physical and solid, now appears as energy currents interacting with other energy currents throughout time and space and beyond.

It opens the heart's love, so that the self-protective boundary that keeps us in roles within a small circle of life can be released in favor of love's desire to share itself with all of life.

This desire of the heart to extend love everywhere is supported by a greater inflow of love which comes from the higher levels of our being, making it possible to give of ourselves more because we are connected at all times with the spiritual universe and with the Source from which love comes.

This huge change in perception is created by spiritual longing and also by the advent of greater light which makes possible an opening into other levels of awareness, including awareness of the deeper levels of who we are. Such changes are not something that the mind can think or the will intend.

They are part of spiritual awakening.

While the mind and heart can prepare the way for such awakening, the opening itself is more of an act of grace than of thought, bestowed upon all who inhabit the planet at this time, especially those who are receptive to the higher vibrations of light.

This light illuminates the further reaches of consciousness that have existed in shadow, so that more becomes possible now because more has become real.

The new, soul-reality brings to us a sense of participation in the vast and mysterious universe of which we are a part and brings to everyday reality the same mystery. No longer is it possible to see events as just 'there', or to think that things happen randomly or by chance.

No longer is it possible to justify hatred, violence or the seeking of revenge for there is no one who is not felt to be part of us - no one whose harm would not bring harm to us and whose greater wellbeing would not bring us greater good.

This benevolence toward all is the soul's natural state of perception and it lifts us out of the usual state of limitation we have lived in, creating an expanded view of life.

The great gift that we bring to the earth through the awareness of ourselves and others as souls is the gift of peace and harmony, as well as of love.

For when others are seen as souls with a Divine essence and sacred purpose for being here, then we can no longer regard anyone on the basis of what they look like or where they came from.

All differences diminish as compared with the common thread that binds us, permitting us to see others as brother and sister souls, as close to us as our own self.

This perception is at the heart of soul-awareness and it is this essential shift in consciousness that will enable the earth we live on to become the sacred planet it is meant to be.
