The Truth About Life's Challenges

by Dr. Brenda Shoshanna -

In the midst of our lives, hungry, thirsty and often weary, there comes a moment when we stop and wonder, “Is this all there is? Is there another way to live my life that will bring the joy and contentment that eludes me?”

Caught in the patterns of our lives, each of us has an intuition of something beyond the way we are now living.

This something has the power to dispel sorrow and transform our lives into one of wholeness and joy. It has the power to heal division and offer the strength, compassion and refreshment we all desire.

Our True Nature

This is what happens as we live from the wisdom within, our true nature, the essence of who we are.

Rather than seek to fulfill everyone else’s beliefs and expectations, when we turn within for wisdom and guidance we have a way of seeing things differently.

Rather than respond automatically, we are true to ourselves, to our own perception and vision and then have the opportunity arises to look at the world through fresh eyes.

As we do this, we can often grow like flowers, planted in the soil of our daily concerns. This may also be called, living our lives from the inside out, trusting ourselves and our own intuition.

As we begin to do this, we develop a new way of knowing and of being in the world. We do not analyze, explain or justify what happens.

Rather than try to mold or control our experience, we simply make friends with it, become acquainted, let it instruct us and be our guide.

First Steps

As we embark upon this pathway, there are certain pointers and warnings which are helpful. Some are listed below: As they become part of your daily lives, you will easily and naturally see how your relationships benefit as well.

POINTERS AND WARNINGS
1. Just Be
Take a deep breath. We are not going anywhere fast. In fact, we are returning – back to our original home. Put down fantasies, hopes and expectations for a moment.
Just simply learn to be where you are. Sit still without moving and take in all that is going on now. Don’t judge it, hate it or push it away. Be with everything, just as it is; including yourself.
2. Stop Looking For A Quick Fix
A great danger in our lives is looking for a quick fix, believing there are all kinds of wise ones around who have the answers for our lives. That is not the point here. As they say, “Don’t put a head on your head. What’s wrong with your own, anyway?”
3. Give Up Unnecessary Pressure
Most of the time we create all kinds of goals and drive ourselves crazy to reach them. We measure our progress, compare ourselves to others, judge ourselves relentlessly.
This is not our way. Here we focus upon each breath, each day, each moment and experience it totally. One complete breath brings the next. This path is made by walking.
4. Go Back To The Beginning
Many are constantly seeking more and more, exploring new territories, ideas, relationships. They then feel they are advancing and gaining ground.
However, many rush forward without really knowing where they are going. Once they arrive, they quickly set a new destination and start rushing to it again.
Our way is to return to the beginning. We stop, sit down, look within. We remember where we came from, who we are and where we are headed. We also remember to take care of our simple lives as well as the lives of others along the way.
By returning to our original nature, we remember how to sit, breathe, eat, play and re-claim the excitement, joy and adventure we felt as children, but lost along the way.

Becoming Yourself: Tips for Spiritual Success

by Jan Engels Smith -

The goal of the journey is not in its destination – rather, it is the understanding that emerges from the journey. It is through the journey that wisdom is gained.

Those who are interested in experiencing wisdom must change; they must seek healing.

They must look at what they believe and examine why they believe it. The care of the soul can have magical results; soul retrievals and healings can be life altering.

I have witnessed thousands of healings. They were all miraculous, beautiful, loving, and real. I have also witnessed healings that did not last.

Many people do not feel worthy to receive their healings, or they never change bad habits of thinking so the healing seems to dissipate from them.

Spirit consistently provides opportunities to heal, but until you make the decision to change your life and to change your thinking, you will find a way to reject the healing.

We are at the edge of a new millennium. Change is upon us.

The whole universe supports a new connection for those who choose it.

People are seeking their divinity, their connection to Spirit and to God.

We are in the transition to the Golden Age – the age in which souls are connected to Source, to God, to Spirit. Heavy veils are lifting.

Our culture historically has not endorsed the magic, the miracles of connection and Spirit. We have spent hundreds of years out of touch with our own divinity.

Many humans have spent lifetimes experiencing the hardships in life-betrayal, doubts, prejudice, abuse, unworthiness, inadequacy, hatred, and war. These lifetimes were not based in love but in fear.

Even many who believed God chose their belief through fear. Judgment, judgment, judgment controlled their behavior and their life.

They were either afraid of being judged or they were judging themselves. Many sought connection through another being, someone who had more connection, more worth than they.

This is an illusion.

Worth is intrinsic and connection is everyone’s birthright. It is through your healing that the world will heal – that life will heal.

Please take heed of these words of advice for success along your spiritual path:

TIPS FOR SPIRITUAL SUCCESS
  • Let go of the people, places, and things that block you from your own growth.
  • Forgive.
  • Pray and pray and pray.
  • Develop a relationship with Spirit-journey, meditate, connect in some way and trust the information that comes to you.
  • Take care of your soul. Contact people who can help you with this care.
  • Scrutinize your belief system. Is your core foundation based on fear or love?
  • Practice random acts of kindness and compassion.
  • Be humble and open.
  • Love yourself and all life.
  • Learn the Laws of Attraction and the Laws of Allowing and practice them.
  • Put your energy into what you want to create for yourself. Do not Worry!
  • Practice mantras and affirmations.
  • Look closely at yourself, your behaviors, and your beliefs, and then make conscious decisions about change.
  • Pay attention to what you attract to yourself. Understand how this attraction is linked to your thoughts, actions, and words. Determine which core belief is creating your behaviors.
  • Remember that you contribute to the collective consciousness with every thought you have. Are you contributing positive energy or reinforcing negativity?
  • Get clear as to what you would like to create for yourself. What do you ultimately desire? Visualize yourself living this reality. Be in joy about this!
  • Devise ways to remind yourself each day to keep on track with your new way of being.
  • Choose rituals and ceremonies to enhance your spiritual practice.
  • Get with like-minded people and start building a new community. Support each other and yourself.
  • Make a commitment.
  • Talk to the spirits and then “feel” their answer.
  • Love yourself!
  • Remember the spirits love you; they want you to be happy and fulfilled. Desire the same for your self, for happiness is a choice.

Know yourself, honor yourself, take care of yourself,

 BECOME YOURSELF!

Down the Rabbit Hole

by Judith Pennington -

In Lewis Carroll’s famous book, Alice in Wonderland, the little girl, Alice, falls asleep and awakens in a new world where she experiences different states of consciousness and bizarre and heroic characters that show her who she is and who she is not.

Reawakening, she knows herself better and (presumably) the best direction for her life—thus finding herself in a new state of awareness in a new reality.

A Journey into the Many Worlds

The plot rings a bell, doesn’t it? And that’s why Lewis Carroll’s story is a classic.

Alice’s journey is like our own lives: we tumble into rabbit holes—“curiouser and curiouser”—and awaken and fall asleep and fall asleep and awaken until one day we stay awake and change our lives and the world for the better.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the concept of many worlds and especially inner worlds, since my work is to guide clients and students into the depths of their subconscious minds to access imagery filled with insights into how to heal and transform their lives, each person, more or less, an Alice.

I am constantly amazed and awed by how easy it is for people to travel across time and space—in the vast infinity of the mind—to get exactly what they need!

Tremendous power and potential rests at the fingertips of the person who realizes it’s all a Wonderland, with the inner landscape projecting outer reality, waking and sleep, in co-creation with others.

Down the Rabbit Hole

As spirit guide Cuba Gooding Jr. said to the newly dead Robin Williams in the movie What Dreams May Come , “The only world is the world in your mind.”

This is also the message of James Twyman’s new book, The Barn Dance: that the Universal Law of Projection, let’s call it, spills over from physical reality into other dimensions that become parallel worlds.

In the book, Twyman revisits the site of a near-fatal accident in which his car swerved dangerously close to the edge of a precipitous cliff above a deep canyon.

Haunted by this brush with death, occurring just after the funeral of his murdered ex-wife, he returns to the cliff three years later and is astonished to find a car identical to his lying at the base of the cliff, rusted over and covered with vines.

It’s a fascinating book filled with revelations best left to you as a reader.

Stepping into the same many-worlds territory as Richard Bach’s novel, One, Twyman’s true story reminds us that life is a creative journey filled with “choice points” that shift us into new directions: in everyday life, certainly, but also into multiple realities existent in parallel worlds.

Twyman wanted to be with his dead wife, so his car went over the cliff and he joined her in a higher reality. But because his overriding impulse was to live and serve, his conscious mind steered out of the skid to continue his life of service.

This begs the question, what are these “choice points” and where can they take us?

Choice Points

When we choose one direction over another, that’s a choice point, and it can take us anywhere—including the New Reality we want to see in our lives and world.

Quantum mechanics tells us that the human mind collapses the quantum wave on a subatomic level to create a new reality by the force of desire, intention and will. Edgar Cayce, the late, great psychic seer, elaborated on this in saying:

“The will of the soul attuned to God may change the circumstances or the environment …in fact, all the forces even in nature itself.” (Reading 3374-1)

These are incredibly important principles. While a look at cable news tells us that the global economy has crashed, joblessness is rising, and climate change is causing Mother Earth to shake and spume herself back into balance, that’s only one reality.

There are an infinite number of other potentialities as I learned during a recent visit to Baton Rouge to see my family in a journey, of sorts, down the rabbit hole.

Heavenly Flight

As if to prove the sameness of past, present and future, my flight to Baton Rouge featured synchronistic meetings with two people whose stories play into all of this, particularly in terms of choice points in our collective future.

On the plane from Newark to Memphis, I sat next to a young man, a three-year meditator of Indian descent, with high degrees of equanimity and compassion.

In talking with him, I learned that his daily meditations keep him cool, calm and collected and that he consciously demonstrates this level-headedness to his colleagues in a major pharmaceutical firm.

People working for the “magic bullet” drug industry gravitate to him to learn how to tap the same reserves of health and healing in themselves.

The people he works with will face a choice point: to continue in the same direction or collapse the quantum wave into a life of meditative self-awareness that will heal and uplift the world.

I met the second young man in the airport waiting room just before we boarded a flight from Memphis to New Orleans.

This meeting was even more interesting, since Jeff Nagy, a doctoral candidate working with the city’s Traumatology Institute, monitors people’s choice points and sees a heartening shift in our collective reality.

Nagy, a resident of New Orleans, interviews people traumatized by Hurricane Katrina, the Gulf Oil spill and other natural disasters to find out what helped them survive and thrive.

For children, creative imagination (a form of meditation) appears to be the path to healing. Adults, too, find healing within them. As their hearts break open, they listen inwardly for help and then reach out to others from a deeper level of caring and compassion.

Equally interesting is this: according to Nagy, a new trend is developing. Vast numbers of young people, finding themselves at career choice points, perceive that global finance is too easily rocked by climate change.

Consequently, they are choosing service careers as doctors, nurses, psychotherapists, teachers and philosophers.

In the Swamp

Uplifted by the good news shared by these two people, I arrived in Baton Rouge to a wonderful visit with my two brothers.

One afternoon, I took a walk through their cypress swamp to meditate on this letter to you and stayed open to whatever might come.

It was a rugged trail along a brush-strewn levee bordering a network of sparkling lakes, and near the beginning of the path I encountered a huge tree toppled by Hurricane Gustav.

I could have turned back and walked elsewhere, but chose to move forward.

Stepping up onto the tree trunk, I found my feet snagged in vines and precariously teetered on the rolling log while untangling myself.

Taking a deep breath, I continued my walk. It was a beautiful day, but I found myself thinking about the concept of many worlds rather than what I would say here.

By the end of the path, no compelling ideas for this article had arisen, so I retraced my steps, as in a meditative labyrinth. And sure enough, as I quieted my thoughts, nature spoke to me and inspiration flowed in.

By instinct, I followed a side path leading up to a four-foot-tall mound of earth nearly surrounded by a meandering lake.

Standing on top of the little hill, I enjoyed the view and remembered that there is always higher ground, even in a low-lying swamp, if the mind is quiet and open.

Here was my metaphor for you: while in life we may encounter fire ants, poison ivy and chill winds, in the midst of adversity, if the mind is still we find beauty.

For me that day, beauty appeared in this higher perspective, clumps of tiny starburst wildflowers—white and blue—and, just beyond the beaten path, two curious beavers splashing in a bayou and looking up as if to say, “It’s all good.”

When I again reached the fallen log, I saw a handhold in vines wrapped around a nearby tree and used them to vault over the log with perfect ease.

The Power of Memories

Curiouser and curiouser, the next day my brother spoke of rising above the fray to search for higher ground (we are ever so mind-linked).

This led us to an intriguing conversation about some meditation insights he’d had: most importantly, that ancestral wisdom comes down to us through the millennia in memories held in our cellular DNA and the body’s energy field.

Our ancestors pass away, but the energy of their consciousness lives on in us and we draw on it constantly. In a very real way, and until we change it, we are the people who came before us.

When we concentrate on what was good and beautiful about our families, as well as what is good and beautiful in us and the world, this concentration of consciousness shifts us into a higher vibration that dissipates what is not-love, purifies the inner being and rewires our brains, auric fields and lives to a higher consciousness, which we then pass down to our children and everyone whose lives we touch.

Every Moment is a Choice Point

In this brainstorming session—what we do best—my brother and I realized that whatever we are, energetically, ripples into the future to create our destiny in every moment, meaning that every moment is a choice point.

Research on remote viewing and hypnosis tells us that the energy of who we are echoes back into the past to recondition events which then ripple through memory into the future (our present) to refresh the present and future, so that all of these realities vibrate in harmony, as one.

Talk about many worlds!

Yet this is congruent with the scientific principle of quantum entanglement wherein subatomic particles connected at the beginning of time (and especially in families) interact and share the same experience—forever.

What all of this said to my brother and me is that the mind can free us of the past and free the past as well, so that our choice points and realities are entirely within our conscious control, if this is the level of freedom we desire for self.

The Preponderance of Consciousness

It may seem as if life on Planet Earth is sliding down a slippery slope—or teetering on a fallen log—but the reality is that we are always standing on higher ground. In fact, we are that higher ground.

I mentioned that my visit to Baton Rouge was a trip down a rabbit hole.

Another pleasant surprise came in confirmation of these concepts in a book about mind expansion, Development of the Psychedelic Individual (1974), by Harvard psychologist John Curtis Gowan.

I’d brought the book to Baton Rouge to read, as I’d recently learned that Gowan’s concepts of consciousness inspired the invention of the brain wave biofeedback equipment that I use to teach people to enter deep meditation to find their higher ground.

By no mere coincidence, Gowan agreed with Twyman’s Barn Dance story of parallel realities, writing that, “Whichever body is endowed with the preponderant amount of consciousness at the time” is the part of us that survives and thrives.

Commenting on a passage in the Hindu Bhagavad Gita about how meditation creates in the practitioner the “placidity of mind” that transcends likes and dislikes, brings sorrows to an end and establishes in the intellect the supreme reality, he writes:
“Man’s highest purpose is not to experience the world of the senses as a reactive being, but to design it, thus using his perfected psychedelic (expanded mind) power to become part of the noumenon of the universe, in which he becomes a co-creator and co-designer in partnership with the Spirit of Man which gains individualized consciousness through his perfected life and will.”
There is nothing new in heaven and earth, is there?

It’s just that we awaken and fall asleep, and fall asleep and awaken again, forgetting what we knew before until someone or something reminds us of it.

As Gowan points out, science discovered, Edgar Cayce saw and I experienced in my swamp walk, when the active mind expands into its psychic spirit, we co-creatively climb to a higher reality that helps Spirit lift its own consciousness, through us.

When we collectively choose—body and mind, heart and soul, concentrated in consciousness—to have clean air, water and food, the best health care and education for everyone, and a mentality of peace, justice and reconciliation, we will most certainly get these things.

For my part, I see a OneWorld Spirit arising in every direction. That’s the only world I choose to see.

“There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water.
I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt. The time for the lone wolf is over.  Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

Being Heroine of Your Own Journey

by Laura Grace -

Currently, I am involved in a feminine empowerment program. It is a program I chose for the continuation of my spiritual, soulful and emotional evolution.

Although the course is founded in wise feminine leadership principles, the curriculum is challenging me to seriously ponder the true meaning of what American journalist and playwright, Nora Ephron, once declared:
“Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim.”
It’s clear what it means to take 100% responsibility for our lives but what exactly does it mean to be the heroine of our own lives?

Most of us are familiar with Joseph Campbell’s teaching of the “hero’s journey.”  Like the main character in the film “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” the hero ventures forth from the world of common life into a region of supernatural wonder.

There he encounters fabulous forces and a decisive victory is won. The hero returns from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow man.

Although I have always been fascinated by the hero’s journey, I often felt something was missing. That “something” was revealed to me in 2012 when I invited Dr. Jean Houston to be the keynote speaker at the Central Coast Annual Women’s Symposium.

While giving an impassioned speech based on her book The Wizard of Us, she asserted,
“By the way, the heroine’s journey is very different than the hero’s journey.”
Now that caught my attention. For as much as we have sometimes tried to emulate men, we women are very different.

In fact, neurobiology reveals that women’s brains are hard-wired in a uniquely different manner.

Dr. Daniel Amen, who’s written over 30 books including Unleash the Power of the Female Brain (2013), shows that women’s brains are very active; the amount of blood flowing into our frontal lobes hard-wire us for collaboration, appropriate worry, intuition, self-restraint and good judgment.

Most importantly, we intuitively know when something is wrong and are willing to shift gears before the Titanic hits the iceberg and sinks.

This isn’t about whether a feminine approach to life is better than a masculine one; we need a balance of both energies in order to thrive.

The heroine’s journey does differ greatly from the hero’s journey. And one of the greatest variances is how we choose to travel.

Unlike the hero who strikes out on a solo passage to conquer his demons, women recognize that stepping into their feminine power requires aligning with a collective field of support.

Many of us have been trying to do “life” on our own which can only take us so far.

How many times have we felt alone in trying to share our gifts with the world, overwhelmed, or unsupported by life?

In order to shatter our inner glass ceilings—the limiting beliefs and behaviors that sabotage our success—we need to activate a new culture of empowerment which necessitates a shift into a collective quantum field.

It’s a known fact that geese fly 75% farther and faster when they are flying together. Solo passages cannot carry us the distance. When we are soaring as a self-actualized woman, we must activate a field of unprecedented support.

This is, perhaps, the most essential part of the heroine’s journey.

We begin to create a unified field when we affirm:
  • I AM ALLOWING LIFE TO SUPPORT ME ON MY JOURNEY. THIS INCLUDES ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE OPEN TO RECEIVING THE GIFTS I DESIRE TO CONTRIBUTE.
  • I AM FULLY PRESENT IN HOLDING THE SPACE FOR OTHERS TO EVOLVE AND TRANSFORM.
  • I AM LETTING GO OF OLD STORIES OF REGRET, SETBACKS AND DISAPPOINTMENT AND CHANNELING MY ATTENTION, INTENTION AND ENERGIES ON WHAT IS AVAILABLE FOR ME TODAY.
I invite you to step into your own heroine’s journey by bonding with others inside your identity as a powerful and resourceful woman.

May we join together in support of our highest potential for loving relationships, physical health, emotional well-being, financial abundance, creativity and friendship.

May we birth the seeds of our potential forward as we journey together and answer the call to our souls’ deepest purpose.

One Step at a Time

by Phil Evans -

"A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step." --Lao Tzu

Even though it sounds like hype; and just another one of those 'sayings'; this amazing Chinese wisdom is so true! If we take a look at most of our challenges - they will seem extremely daunting; unless we break them down to bite-sized chunks! Little pieces of life; that we need to address just one step at a time; one bite at a time!

If we get confronted by a major challenge in life and it simply looks or feels too darn big or overwhelming, then we will usually complete resist it - or totally avoid it!

However, if we can see it in small achievable chunks, then we will usually have a go at trying to do what we need to do, to get a positive outcome! Yes, we will at least have an attempt, regardless of how big the
challenge (and the time-frame) actually are!

In short, you CAN do it; so have a go; the worst thing that can happen is that you will learn another lesson in life! And let's face it - life is about people ... and lessons; so go for it!

Judgment Versus Discernment

by Lissa Rankin -

You might judge all of these people, labeling them as “immoral” or “wrong.”
He cheated on his wife with a much younger employee.
She abandoned her newborn baby.
He drinks until he beats his children.
She manipulates her feminine wiles to get what she wants from men.
He took their hard-earned money and then squandered it for selfish motives.
She killed him.
He raped her.
She sells her body for money.
He heads up a sex trafficking ring.
She molests children.
He sells drugs to teenagers.
What if we all grew our empathy muscles instead of judging?

What if Reverend John Watson was right when he said,
“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle?”
As I described in my blog about being “spiritual but not religious,” I think spirituality is largely about choosing to withhold judgment, trusting that everyone’s soul is on its own journey, learning what it’s here to learn and everyone is entitled to their own journey.

I’m in no way condoning such behavior but what if, instead of your judgment, you could perceive these individuals as suffering beings and offer them your love and compassion instead?

To Judge or Not to Judge

As a child, I was raised to judge people who do “bad” things. The Methodist church told me these people would go to hell. Most of my family members taught me that only “good” people go to heaven and that I’d better be good myself if I want to go to heaven too.

But what if people who make choices like this were themselves raped, abused, or abandoned when they were young? What if they know not what they do?

Loving and accepting those who violate others is not about condoning the behavior or even tolerating it in your own life.

It also doesn’t mean that there aren’t consequences to this kind of behavior.

Having compassion for those who engage in such behaviors doesn’t mean you must stay married to these people or even allow them into your social circle.

It’s not only your right to set boundaries in the face of these kinds of behaviors; it’s imperative. But boundaries can exist in the absence of judgment.

You can set limits that protect you and your loved ones without making someone wrong. Remember, judgment only burdens the judger.

The minute you judge others, you lower your own vibration and step out of the vibration of love, which is the frequency of miracles. Judgment itself is the ultimate violation of all spiritual principles. Love and judgment simply cannot coexist. But love and discernment can.

Judge Your Neighbor

Byron Katie teaches what she calls “The Work” as a way to enter into spiritual inquiry around your judgments of others.

As you can learn by filling out her “Judge Your Neighbor” worksheets (download one here), most of our judgments of others are actually judgments of disavowed shadow parts of ourselves.

If you’re pointing a finger at someone else, it’s probably because it triggers something you don’t like about yourself. You’re probably not a serial killer or rapist, but perhaps you’re always killing your creativity or violating your integrity or raping your truth.

Once you open yourself to self-compassion and forgiveness, compassion for the neighbor you judge follows.

be love

Judgment Versus Discernment

So what’s the difference between judgment and discernment?

Judgment says “You are bad so I don’t love you.” Discernment says “I love you and choose to set boundaries to limit my exposure to you.” Judgment closes the heart.

Discernment allows it to stay wide open but protected with clear boundaries. Discernment is the ultimate form of self care.

It’s a way of promising yourself to only allow into your inner circle those who vibrate at the same frequency as you. It’s a promise to yourself to only stay close to those who respect your boundaries, treat you with kindness, choose to behave guided by integrity and know how to love you with their own open heart.

This doesn’t mean you can’t hang out with people who choose to behave in ways you might not like. You can absolutely love and have compassion for people who might make choices you don’t agree with.

You’ll likely wind up in more of a mentoring role with these individuals—which is perfectly fine—but if you’re choosing to mentor someone, check your motivations. (Read the blog post Martha Beck inspired me to write; “Are You A Skanky Ho,” as a way to help you assess your motivation to be helpful.)

It’s perfectly appropriate to serve others as long as you’re clean in your motivation and it’s coming from a place of worthiness and self love.

You may find this hard to do as you first begin your spiritual journey. These individuals probably won’t serve you as members of your core inner circle tribe when you’re in the vulnerable beginning phases of walking your unique spiritual path.

You may find it healthier and kinder to yourself to keep a little distance at first, at least until you’ve developed enough in your own spiritual growth to be able to be in the presence of lower vibration individuals without having it lower your own vibration.

It’s a Phase of Development

Don’t worry. You won’t need to do this forever. As you grow in your capacity to BE LOVE, you’ll find that you may be able to be close to others who are not where you are in your spiritual growth, even those you behave in ways that may be out of alignment with your own sense of integrity, without being negatively affected by their presence.

Once you’re able to maintain clear energetic boundaries around those who operate at a lower vibration, your ability to hold your own vibration steady in the presence of others increases.

This doesn’t mean you’re required to let close those who choose to engage in harmful behaviors. It’s even okay to boundary against or discern into your outer circle those individuals who aren’t interested in moving beyond egoic consciousness.

You might choose to grant yourself permission to only stay close to others who, like you, are committed to the spiritual path. It’s okay if you choose to do this! As Martha Beck once said to me, “Choose relationships that cultivate the stillness in you.” If you’re surrounded by drama, opt out.

There’s no need to keep people close in your life just because you feel bad for distancing yourself. If you’re motivated to stay in a relationship because you feel pity for someone, that should be a red flag to you that your motivation isn’t clean.

It’s okay to grant yourself the yummy factor of only choosing to be close with those who are also committed to staying in alignment with their own integrity as they try to let their souls, not their egos, take the lead.

Discernment Increases Compassion

In Brene Brown’s research, she found that the most compassionate people were those with the highest boundaries. Because they protect their own boundaries, they can walk around with an unguarded heart while still feeling safe.

If you feel like closing your heart is the only way to keep others out, you’ll wind up practicing less compassion.

Try seeing what it feels like to withhold judgment, open your heart and practice discernment.

You just might find yourself experiencing an unbearable lightness of being. If nothing else, you’ll be free of the burden of judgment and can open yourself to more connection and a sense of Oneness with those around you.

The Faces of Fear and Doubt

by Daniel Jacob -

The Phase of Ascension, through which many of you are passing at this this time, deals primarily with the identification and elimination of FEARS and DOUBTS which were designed to hold you in stasis while you completed your studies and explorations in the World of Form.

These elements---which some have referred to as "Dark Forces" or "The Powers That Be" are like SEAT BELTS that a person might wear on a ride at an amusement park. They are meant to have power over you ONLY while the machine is in motion. When the experience is over, you will be instructed to remove the belt so you can exit the ride.

There are many among you who now proclaim: "This is it! The Time of Destruction is upon us!" Though there are universes where deconstruction is taking place, the reality context in which you read this transmission presently has other things in mind.

Primarily, we are referring to the systematic release of FEARS and LIMITATION DOGMA, which are no longer required to keep you solidified within your 3D Format of living.

As we have mentioned several times before, the "Big Three" Grounding Forces which are being used to keep your adventurous spirits in check, are: Health, Relationships, and Finances. Whenever you are in danger of coming on too soon into full remembrance, your universe will manifest people and situations to remind you that "You are HERE, and you are still human." The recent upsets you have experienced in Government and World Economic Markets is a direct reflection of those messages.

Those who ARE getting too expanded, too fast, are assisted in their evolution as these self-designed "seat belts" bring them firmly back into current 3D Focus. Those who are ready to transcend these restraints will allow Fear, Doubt, ,Shame, and Regret to become SPRINGBOARDS, launching them far beyond worldly concern and hesitation.

When confronted by your greatest fears, during this important time, it is important NOT to get overly tied up in processes of self-protection, negotiation or blind speculation about various "calamities" that may be coming your way.

AS we mentioned, in detail, during our very first transmission to you,  there is no one "out there" who is plotting against you to bring you down.

Whatever comes your way is for purposes of growth and remembrance. These operations are self-designed and initiated---even if they don't always feel that way.

Stand firm. Be confident. This, too, shall pass! Ye shall be victorious, my friends regardless of how your 3D Lens sometimes bends and distorts its images. We are here for you. Reach for us and we will respond in whatever form and embodiment you require.

Be patient as you do this, because energy that is set forth as a "demand" is harder to penetrate and transmute. Be clear about your desires, then relax and let your "Magical Manifesting Mind" do its job. In such an environment, you will readily feel our presence and influence.

You are so much more than you think you are! As are we all! Learn also to nurture a spirit of gratitude as you go along. You will find that it makes an excellent frosting for the very substantial "cake" that is now being baked in your honor. Enjoy! Selah!

The Conscious Path to Deeper Knowing

by Valerie Sargent -

We’re all on a spiritual journey; even the homeless guy sitting on the corner asking for handouts. In fact, that homeless man may be living through a much more intense spiritual journey because he may be here to experience humility in a way that your soul did not find necessary for you to have to work through.
"Develop the habit of thinking of your self as consciousness not as the body or person." --Mooji
Your level of awareness of your particular journey may be greater than the person sitting in the office next to you, but that person’s consciousness is expanding too. And so is the jerk who cut you off on the road earlier.

Since we are talking about spiritual journeys, once you are on that path, the way is often tricky and fraught with unpleasant experiences.

“Wait, what?” You may be saying, eyes wide in disbelief: “I thought spirituality was all about love and light; bliss and peacefulness. I thought all of my dreams would come true and that I’d start earning more money!” Well, that is a good possibility but not before you do a little work first.

When one embarks on and expand awareness, all that has been buried has to surface, be acknowledged and accepted as part of who you are, then released and healed.(moving-through-a-healing-crisis)

Finding oneself and ultimately realizing (actually, re-membering) that we have innate wisdom within us, buried under lifetimes of old beliefs and patterns is hard work.

It involves looking deep within yourself, accepting all of the choices that you have ever made.

It requires forgiving yourself and everyone that you thought had ever hurt you.

It demands loving yourself; your whole self exactly as you are in this moment, without conditions. And more. Yes, more.

It’s a choice to journey consciously and it takes courage and trust.

It’s something that we are all doing and consciously or not, it still takes courage and trust. When you are not conscious of being on your spiritual journey, life just seems unfair, tough and as if everyone is against you.

Conscious or not, your soul is leading you to a state of expanded awareness.

So that jerk who cut you off on the road today is expanding in awareness just like you are but he’s probably not aware of it; he may just feel like life is too stressful and he took it out on you.

Seeking your own deeper self is an undertaking that is well worth the hard work and the potential struggles. Peace to you on your journey.
