The Principle of Thought

by Julia Fairchild -

Ever try NOT to think of something, or someone you wanted to forget? Thoughts are like a river that flow through the bed of our mind on their way to the collective consciousness.

Whether we know it or not, thoughts flow unbidden to their inevitable creation of whatever task we set them to.

Knowing or better, choosing what we think, and directing our thoughts in a conscious way, is the only way to manifest that which we would rather have than what just shows up for us.

Awareness, mindfulness, being awake, intention. . . . all are ways of describing the process of choosing thoughts, of mind over matter, of taking responsibility (or the ability to respond) to what presents itself in our daily experiences.

Thought is energy or light, that is shaped by consciousness.

Every thing we experience is created by thought, given form by our feelings, what we think, how we behave and what we value.

In Rapid Eye training, I learned that there are four levels of awareness in our reality and that starting at the body, they proceed from physical, to emotional, mental and spiritual. These four aspects are encompassed in our "aura" if you will and compose the whole of our several bodies of awareness.

Vibrationally, it is easy to see that we are most dense and slow at the physical; that emotions are heavier than thought and thoughts are heavier than spirit. Anything that comes TO us travels the opposite order of awareness.

That is, things are created spiritually before we think of them; our thoughts create our feelings and the body is the last to "get it".

This principle was illustrated in a Discovery channel program using Kirilian photography to study the aura in relation to medical conditions and healing.

They showed time-lapsed photography of a man who had a "cloud" in his aura. Over the course of several days, the cloud moved closer and closer to his body, until when it reached his body, he had "caught a cold".

The connection of physical illnesses to body mind is a telling example of creating our physical realities with our thoughts.

Another aspect of this principle, is understanding that any thought that occurs to us has already manifest in spirit.

Spiritually, there is no judgment between good and bad; it’s all relative; it’s all experience.

How does it feel to want? Let’s find out. Think about how much you want something. Focus on how much you lack it. See how that makes you feel. . . and the more you focus on the lack, the more you create "wanting".

By the same token, if we can dream of something, the very thought of it insures that it’s already complete in spirit. Focusing on how good it would feel to possess it; act as if we did already and behold it manifest in physical reality.

Awareness is the Key.

Catch your thoughts as they flow past in their steady stream. When the river is swollen with anxiety and fear and the waters rage around rocks in our path, it’s time to get hold of your Self, and observe what you’re doing to create such a storm.

Listen to your words.

Remember that the words "I am" are the words of the Creator, and that any time we place ourselves in "I am" we are creating whatever follows the words. "I am tired" may not be what you choose to create for yourself. Rather learn to say, I am ready for a good night’s sleep."

The formula is so simple and yet, most never get it. We often think or hear, if only I had such and such, I’d be happy.

The formula for success is not have, do, be; it is be, do, have.

If you want to have more, you must do more, and in order to do more, you must first become more. Becoming more is only attainable in inner conscious awareness, in imagination, in reflection, in meditation, in insight.

Information and knowledge are gained from your outer conscious awareness.

Wisdom and insight are gained from your inner conscious awareness.

It is through reflection that you can achieve an understanding of the totality of who you are, and where you are going in this journey called life.

Sleeping and dreaming allows an aspect of your inner awareness (the subconscious) to process and integrate the information accumulated during your outer awareness (conscious) waking hours.

Creative visualization allows another aspect of your inner awareness (imagination) to integrate and apply the information stored in both the conscious and subconscious.

Meditation allows another aspect of your inner awareness (intuition) to supply wisdom and understanding to the application of information and knowledge. Achieving a complete physical, emotional and mental stillness will empower another aspect of our inner awareness (creativity) to harmonize, to synchronize, to resonate your electromagnetic vibratory output with the universal.

Finally, remember that there are only two motivating forces of human experience; love or fear.

Examine your thoughts and ask yourself – are these thoughts which promote love or fear? Which do I choose to live?

"What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind." --Buddha

The Principle of Harmony and Rhythm

by Julia Fairchild -

This principle is strikingly illustrated by placing a handful of iron filings on a thin sheet of metal and playing a certain musical note near the sheet. Wondrously, the filings arrange themselves into a pattern. Change the musical note and the filings rearrange themselves into another pattern.

Every sound has its vibrational pattern, and the visible filings demonstrate the invisible pattern of the sound.

Our thoughts are like the sound and the circumstances in life are like the iron filings.

The filings have no volition or will of their own. They simply fall into the vibrational pattern of the sound. In the same way, automobiles, money, food, jobs, and relationships have no particular will of their own. Their nature is to follow the direction of the waves of thoughts that we radiate.

Some say, "Look what I created!" Another way that could be said might be, "Look what I attracted!" The word circumstance neatly depicts the process; circum means around; stance means stand.

Circumstances are the conditions that stand around us, magnetized to us by the central core of our thought forms. Change the thoughts at the center of the energy field, and we change the conditions that stand around us.

There is a basic rhythm to all God’s creations – including us.

We notice it when we are quiet enough to listen. Each of us has a natural rhythm. Life is simple when we hear, feel and follow in harmony and rhythm.

Meditation visualization improve the ability to hear, feel and become more sensitive our inner self and the world around us.

As we practice being quiet, the inner self teaches us and we will see that miracles are natural expressions of love.

Often a piece of music is called beautiful because of the interplay and harmonious synchronization of the notes.

In fact, some music (such as Baroque) can actually program our format a person’s brain to facilitate learning. This harmonious interplay extends beyond the music for our ears.

The infinite intelligence of the universe is behind the rhythm and harmony we need in our lives.

As we become more practiced in using these principles, we realize the natural guidance is always there for us, forming a life into a divine pattern.

To increase our harmony and rhythm, we can increase our understanding of the information we receive from our five basic senses: touch, sight, taste, hearing and smell. Then we can become more aware of our other senses, such as intuition and awareness of energy.

When we are in harmony with these principles we draw upon the powers of nature or heaven. We are aware that all is in harmony; that all things work together for our good.

When we react to anger, confusion, anxiety, or fear in another person, we encourage the other person to believe he is presenting the truth. Another response could be to disregard the illusion the other person is expressing and see him as perfect and joyful.

We occasionally fall into the temptation to perceive ourselves as unfairly treated. We can be treated unfairly only by ourselves. We are only victims of the world, if we think we are.

Rather than what others or the world do to us, it is what we believe they have done to us, or what we believe we have done to ourselves that make up our problems.

Deprivation is the feeling we experience when we feel we are isolated or separate. We then project blame, anger, hate to others. They pick up the signal and play a part for us so we can feel that our anger, hate, or sadness is justified.

This signal is a vibration we radiate in our energy field. It’s somewhat like a call to others to come and play with us.

The signals we emit are received, processed, and reacted upon by those seeking that signal; they are tuned in to our broadcast, our vibration.

The ability to draw conditions to us has tremendous practical implications.

It means we can use our thoughts to create the life we want. It means we can really change for the better.

It means that things no longer have power over us, for we realize that they are just the manifestation of our thoughts, and nothing more. They are thought forms reacting to the signals we project.

The principle of Harmony and Rhythm is perhaps best expressed in the magic of music.

Music is a powerful influence in our daily lives. There are three basic ingredients of music: melody, harmony and rhythym. Melody and harmony are universal in nature.

The solar system maintains its order because of the vibrations of each individual planet. They comprise a chord of music which is unique to our place in space.

Rhythm belongs to the earth.

It is the method whereby a song is broken up into measures and notes are assigned different values of time. It is the rhythm or beat of a song which involuntarily sets your toe to tapping. It is the ingredient of time.

There is another ingredient of music which is absent in some music.

When it is present, it changes lives.

Even plants and animals respond to it. What is this fourth ingredient?

It is LOVE!

When music contains this element, it performs miracles! It sets into motion natural forces which begin a tumbler-like action, a turning of the tide in the lives of people.

Research into the science of sound, or vibration, helps us understand that creating music requires the interaction between the right and left brain.

In a very real sense, music transcends the mind and goes directly into the heart! It can be a powerful way to access the ability to feel for those who have endured so much pain that they have dissociated from life and become "past feeling."

While listening to music can penetrate even the hardest heart, the activity of creating music, expressing oneself through music, develops a person’s ability to organize creative thoughts and to express them effectively.

It doesn’t seem to matter whether that creation of music is in the form of humming a tune or in performing in a concert. Feeling will happen!

Researchers have studied Baroque music to discover why it is so powerful in assisting in learning.

The combinations of notes, and the patterns of music create order in the brain in much the same way a computer formats a diskette to implant a grid or map which will allow information to be stored in a location where the computer will know precisely where to go to retrieve it.

Why is order so important?

To create is to organize that which is unorganized. There is no judgment between order or chaos; both are necessary to the process of growth and creativity. To make use of the information we accumulate throughout our lives, we need to be able to retrieve it.

If there is no order, no system for storing and retrieving that information, it is much like a file cabinet with no separate folders – just piles of stuff. We know it’s in there, yet we aren’t able to find it.

People with Alzheimer’s disease are losing this grid pattern, this map for how to store and retrieve information. Remarkable results are being achieved with Alzheimer’s patients through the use of music technology.

An interesting phenomenon is occurring.

The elements of the earth, the minds and hearts of the people on the planet are beginning to polarize. There is a gathering of order, a gathering of those who follow the principles which created our universe.

There are multitudes of people making a choice for order. What is left is chaos; that which is in conflict with order.

Each person is responsible to make conscious choices about the level of vibrations which influence them.

When all our levels are in alignment (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual), we are in tune.

We will feel in alignment with the universe and the principle of harmony and rhythm. We will have once again aligned with the "one song."

The Principle of Perception

by Julia Fairchild -

Everything is energy. Energy is only energy, until perception is placed upon it.

Perception is in a nutshell, our beliefs based on our experience.

The way we perceive our present-day world is based on how our world has been perceived in the past and the meanings we put on those experiences are based on that perception.

The images our mind uses for comparison are perceptions stored in memory.

When those images are traumatic memories, they have priority over all others because those memories are associated with survival. They are highly distorted by pain, so the filtering (perceptions) may become distorted as well.

Recognizing this ability we have to create a current counterfeit of what we perceived in the past helps us to understand our current self-deceptions.

We can greatly facilitate our own growth by avoiding detachments to our flawed perceptions and letting go of addictive behaviors based upon these perceptions.

There is no right or wrong in perception. Perception simply "is"!

It is made up of illusion and reality.

Illusion is defined as anything that is temporary in nature, that was thought up by man and had a perception placed upon it.

When two or more people agree on this illusion, it then becomes their reality.

Perception can make whatever picture the mind desires.

This is especially important to remember in the way we perceive others. Any time we judge another, we are really judging those aspects of ourselves.

It is impossible to see something in someone else unless we perceive it first in ourselves on some level of experience.

This principle works both ways, of course.

I have taken personal joy and gratification from knowing that, as I admire any trait in another, I can then claim that trait as my own.

This idea sustains and encourages me as I realize how many people I love and admire and realize that in each such instance, I am indeed, looking in the mirror!

Perceptions form the basis of our opinions, our position in an argument, the quality of our relationships, our feelings and even our quality of life.

Just because we experience the world in a certain way does not mean that the world actually exists that way. Paying attention to our perceptions is instrumental in making positive life changes.

By perceiving our experiences differently, we tend to think, feel and do things differently.

Experience results from our perceptions, which are filtered through such factors as our history, culture, values, desire, education and awareness.

Given our perceptions and filtering system, we begin to have a clearer understanding of why people struggle with understanding reality.

Is it any wonder that disagreements between individuals (indeed, disagreements within ourselves) occur as each relies on his or her own perceptions of reality while locking out other options.

Polarizations within or without cause conflict that can only be resolved as we seek to understand the noble intent and perceptions of one another.

For instance, we have all experienced inabilities to do something we know we "ought" to do, or even something we really want to do, because of inner conflicts which will not be denied.

Denial is never the answer. Understanding and reframing is what works.

Changing perspective or viewing things from a different view, enables us to discover something that then appears strikingly obvious.

"Reframing," is the process of viewing the same situation from different perspectives and can be a powerful tool for enhancing awareness and understanding.

Life experiences, whether at work or home, present many reframing opportunities. We can discover a whole new world when we are open to learning.

When we are willing to move off our position and be receptive to viewing things from a different perspective, our perceptions of our world will be different.

Consider the possibility that if we accept the level of love offered from others and from ourselves, we would have a different view.

It is my belief and experience that there are two kinds of people in the world – those you love and those you don’t understand.

Making the effort to see from another’s (or our own buried) perspectives opens the doors to understanding and therefore, greater ability to love and be loved.

The Gentle Art of Blessing

by Julia Fairchild -

On awakening, bless this day, for it is already full of unseen good which your blessings call forth; for to bless is to acknowledge the unlimited good that is embedded in the very texture of the universe and awaiting each and all.

On passing people in the street, on the bus, in places of work and play, bless them. The peace of your blessings will accompany them on their way and the aura of its gentle fragrance will be a light to their path.

On meeting and talking to people, bless them in their health, their work, their joy, their relationships to God, themselves, and others. Bless them in their abundance, their finances…bless them in every conceivable way, for such blessings not only sow seeds of healing but one day will spring forth as flowers of joy in the waste places of your own life.

As you walk, bless the city in which you live, its government and teachers, its nurses and street sweepers, its children and bankers, its priest and prostitutes.

The minute anyone expresses the least aggression over unkindness to you, respond with a blessing; bless them totally, sincerely, joyfully, for such blessings are a shield which protects them from the ignorance of their misdeed, and deflects the arrow that was aimed at you.

To bless means to wish, unconditionally, total, unrestricted good for others and events from the deepest wellspring in the innermost chamber of your heart.

It means to hallow, to hold in reverence, to behold with utter awe that which is always a gift from the Creator.

He who is hallowed by your blessing is set aside, consecrated, holy, whole. To bless is yet to invoke divine care upon, to think or speak gratefully for, to confer happiness upon – although we ourselves are never the bestower but simply the joyful witness of Life's abundance.

To bless all without discrimination of any sort is the ultimate form of giving because those you bless will never know from whence came the sudden ray of sun that burst through the clouds of their skies, and you will rarely be a witness to the sunlight in their lives.

When something goes unexpectedly askew in your day, some unexpected event knocks down your plans and you too also, burst into blessing; for life is teaching you a lesson, and the very event you believe to be unwanted, you yourself called forth, so as to learn the lesson you might balk against were you not to bless it.

Trials are blessings in disguise and hosts of angels follow in their past.

To bless is to acknowledge the omnipresent, universal beauty hidden to material eyes; it is to activate that law of attraction which, from the furthest reaches of the universe, will bring into your life exactly what you need to experience and enjoy.

When you pass a hospital, bless its patients in their present wholeness, for even in their suffering, this wholeness awaits in them to be discovered.

When your eyes behold a man in tears, or seemingly broken by life, bless him in his vitality and joy; for the material senses present but the inverted image of the ultimate splendor and perfection which only the inner eye beholds.

It is impossible to bless and to judge at the same time.

So hold constantly a deep, hallowed, intoned thought that desire to bless, for truly then shall you become a peacemaker and one day you shall, everywhere, behold the very face of God.
