Allowing the Best of Life

by Ralph Marston -
Allowing the best of life involves nothing more than becoming aware of your resistance to it. Shine the light of awareness on your resistance and that resistance dissolves into nothing. Allow life’s richness to be and it flows freely into your experience.
See your pain and frustration for the resistance that they are and suddenly they are no more. If you focus on the concerns of your ego, the resistance builds up. Realize that you are not your ego, and suddenly the resistance has no basis.
Resisting the limitless abundance of life is your own choice. As soon as you understand you’ve made that choice, you can quickly let it go.
Imagine what will happen when you simply stop judging, criticizing and resenting yourself and others. You open yourself to a whole new world of beautiful possibilities.
Feel the resistance that you’ve created within your own life and know that you can choose to peacefully let it go. Let it go and come fully to life.

Choosing Happiness

by Ralph Marston -
If you chase happiness, it will run away faster than you can catch up with it.
Why is that?
Because when you strive to create happiness, that very act of striving pushes the happiness away. The more you want it, the less you have of it. Happiness is not something you can go out and get.
Real happiness does not have to depend on creating a certain set of circumstances.
Happiness is a way you can choose to be.
You can simply choose it at any time, in any circumstance. When you do, you instantly become more creative and effective, more authentic and fully alive.
Living from a perspective of happiness, you're able to live at your best because you see positive value everywhere you look.
Stop striving to get happiness and just choose to be happy, right where you are. Give your happiness to life and watch as its positive power fills your world.

Dreamer or Doer?

by Ralph Marston -

Is it best to be a dreamer or to be a doer?
Actually, it is helpful to be both. In all great creations, the idealistic exists with the pragmatic in elegant proportions.
A dream is of little value unless you put action into it and action won't get you very far unless there is meaningful purpose behind it.
Allow yourself to dream grand, magnificent dreams that express the deepest essence of who you are. Then let those dreams pull you steadily through the practical, nuts-and-bolts work of making them real.
Work through each day with diligence and persistence, doing what there is to be done. As you do, stay close to the dreamer that always lives within you. As a dreamer, you can envision a world and a life with no limits. As a doer, you can focus on something that has never existed before and make it real.
Let your most treasured dreams focus your actions and let your actions express your dreams.
Be both a dreamer and a doer and dive deeply into the multifaceted treasure that is your life.

Real, Genuine Confidence

by Ralph Marston -

The strongest confidence is quiet,

inner confidence. The surest sign

of inherent weakness and lack of

confidence is the need to boast.

Practice humility and what you

will build is confidence. The less

you care about impressing others,

the more impressed they will be.

Be honest and authentic and your

confidence will grow. The more fully

you realize that there's no need to

hide who you are, the more confident

you'll become in every endeavor.

Approach each task with understanding

and patience. Don't let arrogance

infect your attitude, for arrogance

is a feeble imitation of confidence

that drives real confidence away.

Know where you are going and why.

True confidence flows naturally

from a clear sense of purpose.

There is a solid, genuine confidence

within you, and it can empower all

that you do. Live and act to nourish

and grow that confidence and it

will surely serve you well.

Over and Over

by Ralph Marston -
The actions, thoughts and words that become a permanent part of you are the ones you choose to repeat over and over again.
Doing something once will certainly bring some kind of result and doing it repeatedly will multiply its power many times over.
You cannot lift a thousand pounds all at once. Yet you can lift one pound a thousand times.
In the repetition of your thoughts and actions, there is great power. Choose to make complete and purposeful use of that power.

Add immense leverage to what you do by doing it again and again. Give great strength to your actions by persistently repeating them.
Nothing of value is ever accomplished in an instant.  No skill is ever fully developed in a single day.
Take the time to make the effort over and over again. That time and those efforts will bring great rewards.

Never Stop Reaching

by Ralph Marston -
It is only when a seed grows that it can produce more seeds. It is only when you express joy and abundance in your own life that you can help others to know joy and abundance in their lives.
To make yourself miserable for the sake of helping others will serve no useful purpose at all. The best way to be of service to others is from a position of strength and fulfillment rather than from a position of weakness and despair.
The goals and dreams and desires that are so undeniably your own are yours for a reason. They are showing you and at the same time compelling you, to make the most of your life.

It is not selfish to be your very best.
What's truly selfish is to let your enormous potential go unrealized. What have you always wanted to know, always wanted to have, always wanted to do and always wanted to be?
It is never too late to honestly answer that question and to answer it with all the colorful detail and passion that it deserves. For in the answer to that question is your own truly beautiful and unique gift to life.
Never stop reaching for the best you can imagine; for when you fulfill your highest possibilities, you raise the whole world up with you.

Easing Your Burdens

by Ralph Marston -

Don't make life's difficulties even more difficult by filling your mind with resentment. Instead, ease your burdens by choosing to be truly thankful for them.
If you feel resentment starting to take hold, stop and consider this:
There's nothing to be gained by bringing yourself down over what has already happened. Use the occasion to remember all the things for which you can be thankful.
Rise to the challenge of seeing the positive aspect that are surely there within any troubling situation.

Holding on to resentment will drain valuable energy away from you. Gratitude on the other hand, can fill you with fresh, new positive energy.
Choose to see the value in your situation.
Choose to look forward with confidence instead of looking backward with resentment. Right now, there is much for which to be thankful.

Focus on the positive possibilities and find real joy in steadily bringing them to life.

Do Something About It

by Ralph Marston -
When something is troubling you, make the commitment to change it. Then begin to act on that decision right away. Some of the influences in your life are under your control and many of those influences are outside your control.
You can always decide upon and put into action a positive response to anything.
Don't sit around being amazed at how miserable you are and at how unfairly life is treating you. Instead be amazed at how quickly and effectively you can do something about it.
Don't complain to others about how tough it is for you. Instead, inspire them with your positive and enthusiastic attitude and actions.

When the world feels all wrong, that's a valuable signal. It's your way of telling yourself to get going and make a difference.
You have plenty of good options if you'll simply make the effort to find them. Pick the best one, get busy putting it into action and take positive control of your world.

Finding Your Reservoir of Strength

by Ralph Marston -
Many of your greatest blessings can stay buried for years under layers of comfort and complacency. Often, you realize the full value of those blessings only when difficulties come along.
Life's most serious challenges do not arrive so as to punish you. Rather, they serve to shine a light on what is truly meaningful and valuable.
You have strengths and skills that you may never know about until a crisis compels you to uncover them and put them to use.
In times of great difficulty, you are forced to call upon a reservoir of strength you may have never before known you had.
When life throws great challenges at you, that's not the time to give up on the values and dreams that mean the most to you. In fact, that's the ideal time to reconnect with the very best that is within you.
Within your most treasured values you will find your greatest motivation, inspiration, creativity, effectiveness and strength.
With each challenge, you have a new opportunity to discover new dimensions of your skills and strengths.
When the difficulties arise, be true to the authentic dreams and values you hold dear. Tap into your reservoir of strength and rise above each challenge to a higher level of true fulfillment.

Beautiful Moments

by Ralph Marston -

When one beautiful moment ends, another begins.
Do not hold so tightly that you miss the beauty altogether. With a thankful heart enjoy the goodness that comes your way in things great and small. The way to make sure you never lose it is to simply let it be.
In good time the joys of life come, one after another. Be open and accepting of what is now here and you'll connect with the abundance that is all around you.

Each moment is a blessing.
Treasure its unique gifts and do not rush to the next one or worry that the last one was insufficient.

Relish the beauty that is now and know that there will be more.
Fully live and appreciate what you have right here and now. In this beautiful moment is great and profound treasure. Let it be and it is always yours.

Loving Life

by Ralph Marston -

Fall in love again each moment with life.
Breathe in the rich, new wondrous possibilities that are continually being born. Realize what a grand opportunity exists in even the smallest of matters.
Today is a day like no other and you are magnificently blessed to be a part of all that it encompasses.
The wind blows, the sun shines, night falls and some days bring brutal cold while others offer stifling heat.
There is beauty, there is tragedy and there is exquisite fulfillment along with bitter disappointment.
On the surface, life is filled with much adventure, activity, change, confusion, excitement, joy and frustration.
Underlying it all you'll find abiding peace and goodness that can never be denied.
You have the unique, unmatched good fortune of being you, right here and right now.
Take a brief moment to realize and remember who you truly are.
Then look out at the vast expanse of possibilities that surrounds you. And dive lovingly into it in your own special way.

Feeling Frustrated?

by Ralph Marston -

In every frustration there is a powerful message. Frustration tells you, in no uncertain terms that something is not as good as it could possibly be.

There's a reason for every frustration and when you choose to be brutally honest with yourself, there's also a positive and potentially life-changing response.

The best response to frustration is not to fight it or resent it or let it break you down but to learn from it.

Perhaps frustration is attempting to convince you of the need to speak out against injustice or pointing out changes that you know you must make in your own behavior.

Frustration may very well be telling you that what you're doing at the moment is not at all in line with your most deeply held values.

Frustration may be your way of telling yourself that you need to more fully prepare for life's various challenges.

It could be that frustration is helping you to realize that there must be a more effective, more efficient, more compassionate or more sensible way to do some particular thing. Many great achievements and advances start out as frustrations.

Feel the frustration and then listen very carefully for that frustration is giving you some priceless advice.
