Transformation and New Beginnings

by Julie Redstone -

The way of the world has, until now, been categorized as being opposed to the 'way of Spirit' and it has been said correctly, with reference to the ego and the Spirit that "ye cannot serve two masters."

The union of the two worlds is rapidly approaching and in this union there will no longer be two masters to serve, but only one – the God within and the God without, for these two are but two parts of one unified whole.

The God within is the Divine essence of being that belongs to each soul. The God without is the Creator and Author of life, present before time began.

The new ways are coming into being now, invisibly, quietly, and not without hardship, for the ways of the world are firmly in place and are being continually reinforced by energies that would have them remain in place.

Yet in the midst of what appears to be an entrenched world picture, with events on the global scale often appearing to spin out of control, the new ways are being born.

They are in the air. They are in the greater openness of people to spiritual thought and experience. They are in the greater longing of the heart for peace and love as values.

They are in the purification issues that are coming up for many individuals as the old seeks to be released from its bondage within the physical and emotional levels of being so that a new version of self can emerge and take its place.

We are, in fact, in the midst of both personal and global purification, and there are many dedicated souls who would wish to see more change occurring, more completion, but still have to wait to find their heart's desire manifested.

This level of manifestation cannot be brought about by one's intention alone.

It must be accompanied by the advent of greater light making possible an emergence of capacities and feelings that have been dormant since the beginning of our earth journey. Thus, the transformation and change that is sought is an act of grace as much as it is an act of longing, desiring and intending.

The human instrument is becoming 'divinized' and the capacity to hold more light is central in our ability to finally achieve the depth of healing that is being sought. It is also central to our ability to expand into a new level of engagement with light and life.

Still, during this period of waiting, much is taking place. The light already present is doing the work of helping to free us by clearing out from our energy body, all that was not ours to begin with that we have acquired in the course of time.

Change is occurring for many and new opportunities, new relationships and new perspectives are also emerging.

These shifts are 'in the air' because of the advent of greater light and because our consciousness has become more open to perceive new vistas.

Now, at this time of transformation and of new beginnings, it is important to let go of what we have held onto out of fear or a sense of loneliness. It is time to give ourselves to the Divine and holy purpose that courses through us from the deepest layers of self.

There is no one without such a purpose – no one whose life is merely ordinary.

We are, in the grand scheme of things, the ones who have come to embody God's light and love upon the earth and in this way to help the planetary transition into light. This sacred opportunity is already present with us.

It is a matter of turning toward it with love and courage in order to perceive the fluid and unknown road before us, knowing that this road will take us to the greatest expression of our true nature as children of God and of the Light.

The Awakening of Intuition

by Julie Redstone -

We live at a time when the capacity to hear God’s voice speaking within heart and mind has become greater, due to the intensification of light within the physical plane.

As a result, even for those who have wandered far away from a spiritual path, the way back is more possible than ever before given a wish to return, and given time and attention paid to the voice of an inner knowing that may have previously been rejected.

This inner knowing is what we call intuition.

It takes place in silence and in the presence of inspiration that arrives from another level that often requires asking and waiting.

Though some intuitive perceptions are primarily focused within the human plane, for example, knowing someone well so that we can anticipate how they might react to something or what they might do, the kind of intuition that may be called ‘higher intuition’ comes from a different place.

It is the voice of understanding that translates messages from the level of the soul where Divine truth, light, and wisdom can be heard, to the level of the personality or embodied self that receives such messages.

In point of fact there need be no great difference between these two levels and humanity is progressively moving in this direction.

Yet for many there still remains a large gap, a space that makes it more difficult to hear the words that are being whispered to and from the soul.

In order to bridge this gap, mind and heart have to be willing and there needs to be at least the beginning of trust in one’s capacity ‘to know’.

Intuition does not need to be taught; it needs to be allowed.

It is a capacity that has always been within us in a dormant state, awaiting our turning to it as a flower turns to the sun.

We can start with a small willingness ‘to know’ more of truth, light, and wisdom as it applies to our own life and to the lives of those we love.

We can begin to pray to have the obstacles removed that cloud understanding or diminish our perception of what this truth might be.

Prayerful desire to make contact with higher truth begins to open the doors to inner knowing, especially when such desire is accompanied by a willingness to receive and to pay attention to what has been heard or sensed.

There are people who ‘know’ things who do not believe what their inner senses tell them. They invalidate and reject what they feel or believe.

This choice begins to close the doors to higher perception as it gives more power to fear - fear of being wrong, fear of being different, fear of needing to change one’s life based on what is heard.

In order to open the doors to intuition and to keep them open, we need to be willing to hear and know and we need to be willing to trust.

Trust is not a simple thing, for it often involves a reevaluation of how we have lived our lives.

It may be that life has compelled us to be more practical, more focused on the daily tasks of living and providing for others. Or, it may be that we have made mistakes in the past concerning who or what to trust.

It also may be that we have forgotten that we have the capacity to feel more, to sense more or to be more open to life on all levels.

Trust involves not only a willingness to receive something from another level of our being. It also involves a willingness to believe in our own capacity to flow with life and to change what needs to be changed on the outside or on the inside in order to do so.

There are many who know a great deal but who are afraid to let themselves recognize this because of where it might take them. This fear must be let go of in order to open the doors further to intuition and to the greater perception of light and truth.

Especially today, when there are so many great issues before us as a collective humanity, and so many actions taken that can have a profound effect on all of mankind, it is especially important that we reclaim our ability to know and to trust that gives rise to intuition.

To do otherwise leaves us in the precarious position of not knowing what or who to believe - not knowing which direction to go in, in terms of making the world a better place and relieving the immense suffering that currently exists.

Without access to the deeper intuitive sense that is part of us, we live at the mercy of public opinion rather than in the presence of truth.

For reasons that are both personal and are part of our belonging to the human family, it is essential, now, for us to open to the light that is present so that we can participate more fully in the collective life of humanity as well as in the circumstances of our own lives.

For it is a time in which the planes are coming closer together and we are being asked to do this for our own sakes and for the sake of all - to allow our inner senses to awaken and to become the light-filled beings that we are.

The time we are in asks this of us and for each of us, our hearts ask this of us so that we can begin to solve the problems and challenges that are immediately before us.

We can begin with a prayer to open; we can follow it with a period of silence and emptiness in which we do not know and wait to be shown; we can make ourselves ready to become vessels of truth and light.

The recognition of intuition’s gifts may not happen immediately but it will happen, for all of life supports this growth in each citizen of planet Earth at this time and all of life celebrates when one who has left the path of recognizing their Divine self begins to tread the path of return.

The Emerging New Reality

by Julie Redstone -

There is a heart that beats at the center of the world and it is the heart of humanity's Divine origin and the heart of God as well.

This heart suffers with all who suffer. It feels cold with all who are without shelter. It rejoices with those who have found their way home and it is saddened by the loss of hope that occurs when injustice prevails and cruelty seems to be the norm.

This heart that is the heart of the world is also the collective heart of humanity and it needs to be reawakened to its true potential, for over time it has become separated from its light and its truth. Over time it has become separated from its Divine origins.

The earth itself is the bearer of this heart throughout time, holding it in reserve until such time as consciousness can awaken and human beings recognize the true nature of the bonds that exist between them.

Meanwhile, over the course of centuries and eons, the earth has had to carry the suffering of humanity in total –all of the pain and all of the indifference and neglect that men have visited upon one another, that time and progress in many other areas have not been able to erase.

The suffering of the heart of the earth continues and waits for the time when the planetary body, which includes humanity's consciousness, shall be illumined by sufficient light so that it shall be recognized as a basic fact of life that all are one and that what is done to another or to the earth herself is done to oneself.

At present, this is merely a theory for most or a speculation – something that one can agree to in principle but often not in practice.

Yet the immediacy of truth comes with a kind of knowing that is similar to that which occurs when the sun appears and night disappears into morning or when the warmth of the sun can be felt upon the skin, brushing away the residues of morning's chill.

With such immediacy of feeling and even greater than this, will come the knowing of the relationship of every living creature with every other.

It will not have to be a matter of discussion but will, instead be a matter of embodied experience. This stage of spiritual knowing, for most, has not arrived yet but it is on its way.

Meanwhile the heart of the earth grieves for her children who are lost to her each day, lost in pain and desolation and victims of the cruelty and false principles that allow man to inflict incredible harm upon others in the name of God.

These false principles have a great deal of power now to affect people because they are fueled by forces that intensify visceral feelings of hatred and the desire for revenge and diminish the capacity for forgiveness and for tolerance.

The earth feels each of these actions of man's inhumanity to man and they each become part of her energy body as she waits for the advent of greater light to release her from this bondage and to release humanity from the darkness that is affecting its consciousness as well.

Over time, the presence of hatred and cruelty, of man's inhumanity to man, have played a significant role in the course of human development. They have given rise to entire civilizations and been the downfall of others. They have been the source of wars and have often turned former victims into later oppressors.

They have allowed for the destruction of property, of culture, of lands that were held as sacred, as well as permitting such violent actions as rape and enforced exile to those who appeared to be strangers or foreigners, not belonging to one's own. All this to further one's own ends, often having to do with greed and possession.

This history is not the only history of the earth, for there is a light-filled side as well but it plays a substantial part in how we have come, today, to contain many groups of people who can still legitimately seek the destruction of another group of people.

The changeover to a new consciousness is already on its way and will become more visible with the advent of greater light which at the same time, will bring the residual darkness that has lain in the background of consciousness to the foreground of awareness.

This is what is happening today on the world stage, namely, that what is released into consciousness as residual darkness is being felt more strongly and often being acted out more ferociously.

Nevertheless, the greater light will also provide the larger container into which all that is dark and unloving shall finally be absorbed and dissolved, disappearing into a vastness that is larger and more powerful than the darkness itself.

For the moment, we each aid in this process by recognizing the consequences of our every thought and action that contributes to the balance of light or of darkness upon the earth.

No longer can we think of what we do as not mattering.

Every action and every thought, every word spoken and every gesture, tips the balance one way or another. This is because the energy stream of collective awareness is made up of individual consciousness and whether seen or unseen, there is not one thought or action that we think or take that does not affect others.

For this reason, it is a time in which we either stand with the purposes of light upon the earth by becoming contributors to that purpose or we fail to stand in this way and detract from the power of light to overcome darkness.

As the light intensifies within each individual consciousness, bringing about greater purification and as the earth becomes infused in her planetary body by this increasing light, it is necessary that we remain faithful to the sense of purpose that aims at transforming the planet into a habitat of peace and goodwill, where darkness, enmity and the destruction of life anywhere will no longer seem like a viable option.

This is the deepest prayer of the heart of the earth and it must become the prayer of each individual heart as well.

Becoming One with the Oneness

by Julie Redstone -
We do not have to ask ourselves whether we are breathing because breathing is not a concept. It is a perceived sensation and automatic action within the body.

In the same way, Oneness will become felt within the body not as an idea but as a sensation - a perception of the same degree of reality as breathing brings to our physical senses.
The doorway is open.

The passage has begun.
Each consciousness that is willing can become more attuned to the underlying reality that is growing within human awareness.

Let love extend further beyond the limits of the smaller self and its particular likes and dislikes and you will open the door further.
Forgive everyone and you will take another step.

This is the time of awakening. Blessings.

Facing Financial Challenges

by Julie Redstone -

So many have written with prayer requests in relation to a desperate financial situation that we deemed it important to offer this overall perspective to benefit those in need.

Please consider these ideas, derived from principles of light and let them resonate with your own inner sense of truth:
1. Trust.
In all instances where life seems to present what appear to be insurmountable circumstances, trust is needed - trust that there is a way through the difficulty and that Divine support and guidance can be found.
Trust is a necessary spiritual quality of the embodied soul facing life challenges.
2. Disconnect from fear.
Trust cannot flourish in the presence of fear.
It is limited by fear. And so those who wish to improve the chances of finding the way through difficulty need to try to disconnect from fear and believe that a way through can be found.
Where fear is strong, one must practice disconnecting over and over again.
3. Seek inner guidance.
Every human being has access to inner guidance from the Divine source within. Such guidance is important in decision-making and in knowing which direction to take.
Light a candle and ask for guidance about the way through the challenges you face.
Listen in quiet for the inner voice of truth that you carry. Let your mind become silent. Listen to your heart and to your deeper knowing.
4. Explore possibilities.
Do not believe that you are helpless or that there is no open road ahead of you.
Believe that with God's help you can create a different outcome than the one you most fear. Trust that not all paths are closed.
5. Believe you are loved.
Do not think that because things seem desperate that you are not loved by God.
There are reasons for what is happening to you financially, emotionally, and in all ways.
This is a time of planetary transition, and many are going through huge internal and external upheavals. In the presence of these upheavals, God is holding you.
6. Monitor your thoughts.
Your inner thoughts and feelings have much to do with what happens to you outwardly.
Let your thoughts be of hope and of a positive outcome to your dilemma.Turn to inner guidance and to the deepest truth of your heart for a truth that can sustain you.
7. Value love in all forms.
In times of difficulty, allow love to cushion and comfort you, for love can hold all things and make all things bearable.
The valuing of love is in itself a way through all difficulty.
8. Connect.
Do not isolate yourself, but connect with others.
Let yourself be part of a world that supports hope, not part of a world that supports despair. Know that no matter what you are going through, you are not going through it alone.

May these principles of light, light your way.

Light-Body Levels and Care

by Julie Redstone -

The Earth is changing in its physical/energetic structure and along with it, all who inhabit physical bodies are moving into a higher vibration of light.

What this means is that certain things that were possible before in the way of mistreatment of the body will now have stronger negative effects, and certain things that were not possible before such as being aware of spiritual perceptions, energetic sensations and a flow of emotions that seem to rise out of nowhere, will now become more common.

These effects are part of taking on a body of light, something that is not chosen through an act of will but that can be enhanced through the practices that one now applies to the body and to one's consciousness.

The overall perspective needs to be held that purification of all that is not light within the self is now taking place and as a result, an upsurge of both physical, mental and emotional conditions that have no rational explanation will now more easily appear.

To care for your light-body, there are three levels that must be addressed:

1) Physical.
Your diet will have a strong influence on the amount of spiritual light that your body can carry, with those who are eating denser foods or foods that add toxins to the body reducing the amount of light that can be held.

2) Emotional.
Your emotional life needs increasingly to be held within a spiritual perspective, since the increasing force of light will bring emotions to the fore that may be difficult to deal with and that have a spiritual origin rather than a psychological one.

3) Spiritual.
You need to anchor yourself in a regular spiritual practice that involves prayer or meditation or just being quiet on a regular basis so that messages from your own higher self can be perceived more clearly, as well as guidance from those who are guiding you.
This is the time of change beloved ones and your soul has chosen to be here to take part in it as fully as possible. May your efforts be rewarded by the grace of God's light which will bring to you what your deepest heart most desires.

Entering the Realm of Multidimensionality

by Julie Redstone -

The 'world of possibility' exists within each moment.

It comes into being through our relationship with the Divine which is the strongest creative power in the universe. This creative power flows through all moments, yet is invisible to us when we are closed to it - when we view ourselves as formed and shaped by the roles we play and the past we have lived through.

On a collective level, this past has separated the physical from the spiritual and held visible evidence to be the underlying structure of reality rather than invisible grace.

Based on separation from the Divine, our collective past has created a world that predicts from the past to the future based on what has been seen and known. This view conditions our expectations and restricts our hope. It also restricts our hope for the possibilities inherent in each moment.

Today, this worldview is being challenged by the new awareness arising in many.

This awareness is expanding perceptions beyond the visible and revealing new realities that have never been open to us before.

Beyond logic or reason, Divine life and light are bringing into being the confluence of spirit and matter.

They are closing the gap between the spiritual and the physical and making what was impossible before, possible.

Our outlook, then, if we choose to flow with the Divine in each moment, must be that something new can take place if we allow it.

We can be new, because the fixed identity of the past is now loosening its hold on us. Divine light is causing the heart to awaken, and with it a deeper truth about who we are.

We cannot be new if we are afraid of change or if we believe we are the past. These beliefs must be let go of for they close down the moment and limit the possible.

However, we are being invited to claim our Divine heritage, to join with the sacred core of who we are in a unity that has always existed, however unrecognized.

This movement into unity is the reason things can be new. For we are joining with that part of ourselves that has never left the grace of God, the love of God, the oneness of God.

We are joining with the higher aspects of our selves and entering the realm of multidimensionality.

This is the world of our higher self or soul, now able to express itself more clearly within our consciousness and within our life upon the Earth.

More than anything else, fear of the Unknown restricts the opening of the 'world of possibility'. Fear that the Unknown is not trustworthy. Fear that the Unknown will not guide us. Fear that we will not be led, or shown, or illumined in ways that will teach us how to live.

This fear is based on what has been, and also on the transition we are in. And so we are unsure of its stability and its ability to be the firm foundation for a life.

Fear diminishes and confidence increases through embracing the Unknown – through allowing it to teach us and guide us and shape our actions and decisions.

When we believe in our capacity to live a Divinely guided life, we have already begun to build the foundation for that life. We have opened the doors so that the currents of creative inspiration can enter.

Today, we live in a time of change and of awakening upon the Earth, of letting go of the past in favor of an unknown future. In this movement, the light within all things is leading us toward a life that is fluid rather than solid, undetermined rather than known, changing rather than static.

To be in this new life, we must learn to swim with the currents of change.

Today, we are being called, each and every one of us to embrace this shift and to become fluid.

For it is the time of possibilities and the Earth itself is now moving from a state of pain and limitation into a new state of beauty and grace.

Earth's Awakening and Transition

by Julie Redstone -

There comes a time in the life of a people, when what has gone before must give way to the new, and what has been thought of as a way of life and a standard for defining the normalcy of days, must adapt itself to a new current of light and life that now enters the picture.

Such is the time for the world today, for the old ways of doing things are giving way before a new consciousness that shall envelop both the nation and the world.

This new consciousness shines a light more brightly than ever before on the internal mechanisms by which people think, feel and make choices in their everyday lives.

All that is hidden from the eyes of others will become known to the self and the motives that are less than desirable will also become visible to the illuminated awareness.

This greater consciousness is meant to be a great gift, though it brings with it the problem of having to finally deal with those things that one would rather have concealed from the self or put away until such time as it seemed more comfortable to take them out.

Nevertheless, awakening consciousness to the true nature of the self is of great and priceless benefit, for it enables each soul to finally become free of all that holds it back from realizing its true potential.

For this self-constriction is not based on circumstances that flow through life and come and go but rather on the inner nature of deeply held thought and belief which define the expectancies and the fruits of a life.

These are the building blocks out of which the flow of life is created.

In the present moment, the movement toward greater visibility of self is still quietly moving along subtle channels, creating little disturbance of the inner landscape.

It is still not being perceived as the wave of change that it is, and only some who are more sensitive to the ebbs and flows of thought and feeling or those who are suddenly having to deal with stronger surges of darkness and negativity are becoming aware of what this wave is bringing.

Yet, within a short space of time, many more will become aware of the things that have been hidden and will need to know what to do with all the levels of thought and feeling that suddenly become part of everyday awareness.

For this understanding to root itself in the place where healing and transformation can occur, it is necessary that God enter the picture. For the phenomenon of illuminated awareness is not caused by the self, nor by any motives that reside within, nor by any external circumstance.

Rather the phenomenon of awakening is caused by Divine timing and ordination which has finally moved to sound the call for humanity's movement forward, and to shine the light of truth into the domain of ordinary consciousness.

This is the time of the great purification for mankind and for the letting go of that which needs to be let go of in order that each soul become free.

There are some who will continue to feel hardened to their own inner process of learning and who will deny it in others, and there are some who will feel abused or humiliated or attacked by their very own self and the inner life that is opening.

What is important to remember at this time is that what begins in confusion will end in hope.

What begins with distress at things that have never been experienced before, will end in a simplicity of being and an expanded space within the self that will bring greater peace and a greater capacity to share oneself with others in a true way.

It will also bring, in the end, a greater awareness of God's love and of God's gifts to humanity.

All forms of life are moving into this next step of awakened consciousness and all forms of nature will be affected as well by the increased light of awareness.

Yet it is the human being who will be most acutely affected since it is human awareness that is differentiated in the most subtle and complex ways and that responds most to the emotional domain of existence.

Nevertheless, all of nature shall respond to this call and both plant and animal life shall feel and seem more alive, more vibrant and more conscious.

This is the miracle of the time we are in and for which all souls have waited, namely, that the life of God that has existed in all beings without exception, shall finally become more visible and ordinary reality as it exists in trees, brooks, grass, leaves, clouds, air, mist, earth – shall finally take on the visibility of light that has always been part of the structure of life-forms but never part of their radiance. Now, life shall radiate light.

For those who fear this time, it is important to know that all who are here on the earth have come in order to be part of this great transition and there is no one who will not be helped with the process by Divine aid as well as by the light of their own soul.

The music of that soul shall begin to sound more loudly in the ears and hearts of each one, and each one shall begin to find the inner guidance that will lead them through the newness and uncertainty of this time.

Blessed are those who have come to share in the great transition of the earth and of human consciousness that is part of the present moment. May all be blessed and may all perceive the true nature of God's sacred reality as it arrives to bless the earth.

The Oneness of the Human Family

by Julie Redstone -

An Idea Whose Time Has Come:

There are pivotal ideas that have changed the destiny of mankind and shaped its future. Many have remained unnoticed within the shadowy corners of history until a bright light has shown on them, illuminating them and making them relevant to time, place, and circumstance.

Such is the understanding of the oneness of the human family, of mankind - an idea that has been part of human consciousness for ages, yet one that has not attained its full status as being real or relevant until today, when the planetary body itself is in danger, and when new possibilities appear within the hearts of many who are being influenced by expanding spiritual light upon the Earth.

The idea of the human family relates not only to its essential oneness in terms of the basic needs and rights of every individual upon the Earth - the need and right to food, shelter, and a way of life free from fear.

The idea of the human family relates also to the understanding that there is a basic kinship among mankind, a basic essence that we share together so that in heart, mind, body, and spirit, there is more that joins us than that separates us.

This perception, when taken to a deeper level of truth and reality, has radical consequences.

For it means that we cannot separate the world any longer into those we love and those we hate, those who are with us and those who are against us.

Indeed, we must find a way to achieve common ground even with those we hold profound differences with, recognizing their humanity, recognizing, that they, too, have the same underlying structure of needs and desires that define all that is human.

We are in the process of discovering, today, not a new truth about the physical, biological, or chemical structure of what it means to be human - although advances in science are revealing a great deal in these areas as well. Today, we are discovering a truth that emerges from the heart.

This truth emanates a sense of compassion, a desire for peace, a longing for honesty and an end to deception, an aversion to all that limits or restricts the rights of individuals to live freely.

These ideals, illuminated by spiritual light, are glowing more brightly within the human heart, so that structures and policies that are detrimental to the right of individual freedom are being questioned, policies that have been long established that have contained hidden motives or agendas are being uncovered, and practices that are restrictive to human liberty are being exposed.

These policies and practices may not yet have an immediate substitute at hand. For the vision of the new has not yet fully come into being. Yet the desire for fundamental respect to be accorded to each and every human being because of their humanity, is moving more into the foreground of human consciousness.

An idea whose time has come may have been present in awareness long before this. It may even have been one commonly referred to, yet without understanding the full consequence of its emergence into the light of day.

Such is the idea of the 'human family', one in mind, heart, and spirit, waiting to recognize itself as one in body as well. For this 'body' of the human family is nothing other than the essence of Divine life and Divine energy that has lived within each human soul from the beginning of time.

It is the essence of truth and of purity that has remained at the core, no matter what the exterior self has displayed.

This Divine essence which links all in 'body' as well as in mind and heart, means that there is no longer an 'outsider' or 'other' that we may declare as such.

For all are united in a common Source that flows through the spiritual veins of each human being.

This is the new and radical truth whose time has come. It has not yet fully arrived on the human scene but is waiting in the wings. It is waiting for each one to awaken to the full meaning of being One.

Intellect and Soul

Lotus

by Julie Redstone -

Many people who have been closed are now opening to a deeper sense of life and of themselves. The rational left brain is pondering its own experience and the limitations of that experience and beginning to reach for something else.

Often, what slows down this process and makes it more laborious is the way in which the intellect has been used to protect the self from feeling or knowing certain deeper levels of awareness.

This protection has worked well in many cases, since with a well-honed intellect one can operate very successfully in the world - at least outwardly.

And yet the intellect is not the soul.

Beneath the rational mind and the outer success is the awareness that something else is missing. Eventually, over time, a reaching for that something else takes place.

Help toward making the shift toward greater feeling, intuition, inspiration and softness in general can be had by making efforts in the direction of acknowledging whatever fear may be present toward doing so.

Sometimes, the intellect has done such a good job disguising this fear that it is invisible to the conscious self.

Nevertheless, the turning of the soul toward a deeper level of truth will produce the beginning changes that need to happen to open up a different level of awareness.

The principle of "ask and it shall be given" is true here, for those who desire to know the truth of their deeper nature will find it.

Our Life-Force Connection

Photobucket

by Julie Redstone -

Paying attention to one's breath is an important way of coming more fully into the present moment.

Many people know this, but do not take the time to do it, often because they are too busy with other things to remember to breathe with awareness.

Breath connects us to life-force and to our inner life.

It creates a consciousness of what is going on in the body and hear, not just the mind. It opens us to inner guidance.

The reasons for not paying attention to breathing at times throughout the day are simple - we are too involved with what is going on in our minds to do so.

Becoming more fully involved in the present moment is a doorway to new experience that cannot happen while one is fully engaged with the mind.

What new experience?

This depends upon the flow of awareness that is uniquely the inner journey of each soul.

The experience of the present creates a new view of life - one that does not rely on worrying, planning and thinking in order to feel safe.

Instead, it relies on trusting, allowing and participating in the flow of life in order to feel safe. This is an important part of the consciousness shift that is happening now and it can happen more fully for those willing to embrace the present moment with love and care as if it mattered.

Each moment matters. Each is sacred.

To perceive this one must be there with one's full self. This is God's invitation to each soul - to show up at the feast of life.

Living Without Blame

by Julie Redstone -

Blame is the ego's way of protecting itself from feeling helpless. There are circumstances that arise, today, in which it can feel entirely justifiable to blame others, both on the collective level and on the personal and yet the energy that we give to blame is not conducive to producing any effect other than to cast us even further into a depth of discouragement and despair.

It arises in situations of frustration and deprivation and instead of allowing us to feel grief-stricken or filled with loss or sorrow in a way that would help us heal, blame creates an active component of feeling – a sense that there is something we can do about the distressing circumstances we are dealing with.

By engaging with blame, we tell ourselves that we are taking an active step in asking that justice prevail or that others who are the cause of our distress become different.

Here, it is important to separate two things:
  • 1. The desire that circumstances that cause pain, suffering or deprivation be different.
  • 2. The energy of anger or blame which we bring to the situation. For this energy, instead of being useful to us in a larger sense, ends up using us so that we do not see the full picture of how to work within the situation or what changes within ourselves the situation might call for.
This is the truer version of life's opportunity in relation to situations of deprivation or pain – that we find within ourselves a willingness to trust and to align with the positive in life rather than the negative, by being willing to absorb our own pain and instead of sending back into the world more pain that others can receive from us, to hold our own pain within ourselves and send back good instead.

This attitude may feel like it is beyond us, especially in instances where pain seems too great or deprivation or loss too severe.

At such times, it is necessary to pray for an enlargement of the heart so that it can become big enough to hold what needs to be held, knowing that it is possible with Divine help.

For this is the challenge of deprivation and sacrifice, not that we accept it in the sense of doing nothing to change the external conditions that may have led to it but that we become able to find a measure of enlargement within ourselves so that we can bear pain without creating more of it for others.

We do this not because we wish to suffer but because we are identified with the lot of all in life, not just with our own lot.

Live Freely and In Peace

The expansion of the heart in relation to its capacity to hold loss and sorrow and its desire to convert these into something that will be of benefit to the world, has a transmutative effect on the feeling of anger or blame.

That is, it removes the need for these and instead gives us a capacity to live freely and in peace with whatever circumstances life brings to us.

Such a perspective does not create passivity as some would fear but reflects a determination to be a force for good in the world and one that will be of benefit others.

In addition to this motive, another arises from the fact that blame and anger take from us precious energy and focus that would otherwise be able to contribute to the forward motion of our own lives in immediate ways – in decision-making, in planning, in imagining, and in just being able to be in the present in an ease-full way.

Often, hidden from our waking consciousness, yet active, the negative energies that we hold within ourselves are disturbances to our own sense of peace.

Sometimes we can feel them directly as eruptive anger or as another disturbing emotion. At other times, they operate as a wound below the surface of perception that cannot be healed because it has been left unattended.

The place of peace lies in the freedom to choose which emotional currents we will permit in our emotional house and which we will leave behind.

Those who seek peace must seek also to let go of the desire for anything that would conflict with this goal. The mind may not know how, but the heart knows the way.

To begin to create peace within the heart, it is necessary to lay down one's arms, metaphorically speaking and to determine to live in a way that is blame-free.

When the heart truly desires this, the soul will find a way to teach the lessons of peace and the mind will progressively learn to accommodate.

May all beings who seek peace in the world find rest in the knowledge that it already lies within them, waiting to be found.

Light and Dark on the World Stage

by Julie Redstone -

IN THE PUBLIC ARENA:

When you look at the national or world stage with a contemplative eye, it is possible to see which forces, positions, people and points of view polarize a discussion and which perspectives unify and create greater harmony.

This is a signpost to the operation of light and darkness in the public arena.

Words, positions and arguments that create fear, that sub-divide a nation into irreconcilable groups or a planet into groups that are acceptable and those who are not are infused by the ongoing energy of separation and fear which is another way of describing the energy of darkness.

Light unifies.

It creates greater wholes. It builds a willingness to trust and a need to accord to all the presumption of fundamental humanity, based on respect.

It seeks to redefine what 'enemies' are, and to do away with that term in favor of a deeper explanation of human motives.

It recognizes forces that seek to limit freedom and that seek to disrespect the rights of others but it does not rely on hatred or fear in order to respond to these forces.

The 'we' and 'them' mentality is a hallmark of the time of separation.

We are leaving that time and entering one in which there are no exclusions, since all is held in God.

To enter this time fully, fear must be let go of, not activated and so wherever fear is activated and promoted, the contemplative eye must recognize the backlash of forces that are seeking to prevent the expansion of light.

To see the drama of light and darkness on the world stage and to remain at peace, one must know deeply within one's being that light is stronger than darkness.

This may not show itself immediately in every situation but the thrust of growth, evolution and transformation is and will be the overturning of all that limits freedom on an individual level and on a collective level as well.

All that promotes fear and division is being replaced by light's purposes.

We enter this time humbly and gratefully, standing with the forces of light that may be seen through the remaining conflicts that are still present on the world stage. Namaste.

The Bridge to Greater Love

by Julie Redstone -

Waiting for Someone Else to Change:

We live in a world of relationships in which we are always asking for things and giving things, more of one and less of the other depending on who the 'other' is in our life.

With some it is very easy to be generous, tolerant and forgiving – to create leeway in our hearts for them to make mistakes or to do things that we would rather not have them do.

We find a space within ourselves in which we can accept them as they are.

With others, their trespassing across a line of behavior, word, or thought – a line that we have drawn inwardly and often outwardly – causes a prickliness in us and a feeling of being easily wounded - a feeling of finding certain behaviors intolerable or of needing to run away because we feel disappointed or hurt.

Then, in our hearts and often outwardly, we ask that they be different so that we know how to be with them and so that our relationship can continue without so much difficulty.

There is a lot of pain in wanting others to be different.

There is the pain of feeling dependent upon someone who is not dependable. There is the pain of feeling helpless to create the change that we desire.

Most of all, there is the pain of feeling locked-in to our own responses so that we cannot react differently. For if we could react differently, then the behavior of another would not be a source of concern to us.

This mix of different kinds of distress can be acute or it can be longstanding, sometimes lasting for years or even for a lifetime. There is often a yearning to be free of the entire situation and an inability to know how.

In the corner of our awareness we know that more love and tolerance is needed but have difficulty finding these, despite our knowledge.

There is a bridge that it is possible to build that opens up greater love – a bridge built out of a truth we can recognize that enables us to be free.

It is a bridge of compassion that is composed of two things: on the one side, the recognition that the 'other' is doing the best that they can, all of the time, given the limitations that they face within themselves.

These limitations are part of their inheritance – part of the burden that they carry through life and they can only be put down when they are ready to be put down. Recognition that another is doing the best that they can defines one aspect of the bridge to greater love.

The other side of this bridge is defined by knowledge concerning ourselves. In a deep way, it involves knowing that we are alright and can feel whole no matter what anyone else says or does.

This knowledge of our capacity for wholeness and the feeling that our life is not dependent upon anyone else's unique response, cannot be simply a thought that we tell ourselves.

It must be an experience of inner integrity which allows us to absorb the limitation of the world and of others, without having to have the world change for our benefit. Such an experience of inner wholeness and love is the goal of a spiritual life.

We already have this knowledge within us, for the wholeness that we seek is already there.

It is a matter of finding it again. The finding of it allows us to recognize a choice that we have, and we make it all of the time: to recognize that unconsciousness is part of the way of the world at this time and we can react to it with disappointment or disapproval or we can focus on our own inner path to the things we seek, so that we become an agent of healing for the world, rather than a disappointed lover.

To let go of having to have another change is no small thing. It is huge in its implications. It is even revolutionary, for it can change our entire life. Yet, it is built on a capacity for greater love that we must seek within ourselves in order to find it.

Such seeking opens up the way to a life in which the source of love can increasingly be felt within us, and the wellspring of disappointment can dry up.

Shift in Perspectives

The letting go of the sense of needing another to be different for us may not disappear in a moment, a day, a week, a year or even longer - and yet it can.

It can disappear in an instant because it involves a simple shift in perspectives, a shift into a perspective of knowing that no matter what anyone else says or does, that we remain whole and ourselves, with the capacity to let go of the clinging that has made life painful.

This clinging, which we would so much rather do without, may ultimately be the agent which produces great benefits for us if we become aware of it in a deeper way.

For it can lead us to the path of becoming responsible for our own inner growth and it can lead us to the recognition that we become free by letting others be free to be themselves as well.

In this way, we gently move toward an inner capacity to live a life that is wholly based in love not because of what others give to us or do not give but because of what we feel capable of giving to the world.
